  1. Haha ... think I need some KPT-684's. Have a set of KPT-904's with the 510 horns ( w/B&C DE75 drivers). Awesome, so got another set of 510/H-691's ... Hooked them up in my small stereo room, using a set of Forte I's as "bass bins." But these Forte's really do not "cut it." Pretty anemic when combined with 2" horns. (Using a miniDSP to set frequencies.) So; pretty sure KPT-684's will be the "best" to compliment my 510 horns. Any other thoughts? So; have been looking for 684's ... hard to find. Plus it seems prices range form $200 to $3000 ... @MetropolisLakeOutfitters?? Just do not want to spend too much as these are in a separate room which I "listen in" less than once a month OK; one more complication ... WAF factor Saw these might be available in a "wood version." Certainly would be better WAF wise ... plus some walnut veneer. Thanks, Emile
  2. AWESOME speakers ... have a pair and LOVE them GLWS
  3. Haha ... have Forte's (on rollers) in a small stereo room. Usually at zero degrees ... but the maid moves them ... sometimes 10 degrees. Cannot hear any difference (prob due to the small size of the room). Just added K-510 horns ... jeez ... sorry, but Forte's are anemic ... looking for KPT-684's Cheers, Emile
  4. John Lennon ... Happy Christmas / War is Over Got the CD in London in 1971 (???) Wasn't released in the US till about a year later. Absolutely my favorite Xmas song
  5. Specs say 51-1700HZ ... so think it would be OK. Thanks
  6. OK; chopped up my wood with a table saw ... fits perfectly. One cabinet done ... DARN ... brad nailer is "shot." Last nail doubled up and can't get it out Jeez; not going to spend $100 to get another nailer next box is going together with polyurethane glue ... damn; a lot slower ... and I am picking up veneer tomorrow. The wife is only gone till Friday probably will catch hell since I "played" and did not get "her stuff" done Time for wine Cheers, Emile
  7. Haha ... do exactly the same ... and many times she did not even notice "what" I bought
  8. Haha ... did the same thing about a year ago Got a Bob Latino ST-70 with the "best" Russian tubes. Was fun, but never got really impressed Sold it about 3 months ago "here." Just never got enough power and sound from it compared to my vintage Marantz 1060 and 2252B. Yes; know 90% of people are really impressed by "tubes." Just wanted you to have "another" opinion. Cheers, Emile
  9. Got some (select; no knots) pine wood (1x10's) and will build a box for the 510's ... picking up some walnut veneer tomorrow. (Haha; wife is out of town for 4 days ) Think I will live with the anemic Forte's until I can find a set of KPT-684's ... or maybe I'll build a box for double Caire woofers Cheers, Emile
  10. Jeez; anyone willing to pick those up for me? Problem is you will have to drop them off in Florida OK; will "double" it
  11. Hi Glide; welcome to the forum Pretty sure you will be just fine. Had an Onkyo TX-NR686 and used to run L/R Cornwall's on it plus back Heresy's and a center. "Purists" may advise more power, but I run Pro KPT-904 speakers off a 52W/ch Marantz 2252 and it is awesome ... haha; recommended power for these is 800W/ch Cheers, Emile
  12. @pzannucci ... just read @SWL 's thread. Thanks; very interesting Think he used the Ciara FXE12-4 ... the HW321 is a newer model. Any thoughts on "just" replacing my single K-23 Forte woofer with one of these Ciara's? Thanks, Emile Add-on ... darn; Ciara's are only available in 8 Ohms ... need 4 Ohms for the Forte's
  13. Haha ... suggest he bring in a pair of Pro speakers like KPT--904's first. Then replace them with Khorns and the wife will LOVE them OK; just HAVE to add this ... the Khorns don't sound as good ) Cheers, Emile
  14. Awesome Someone get this stuff We have several R.C. Gorman prints (and one original) ... getting to be worth BIG $$.
  15. Great idea ... should be good till the last (drop); OK note
  16. @AHall ... awesome ... love it ... but my wife would kill me Now ... if I could saw those in half
  17. Thanks @pzannucci ... haha; yes "small" meaning about the size of my Forte's or a little bit bigger ... say max 20x20x40 inches. Guess a Chorus would fit nicely just don't think it is enough of an improvement over Forte's. System and speakers are on a wall in a small guest bedroom about 12x12 ft. Queen size murphy bed folds down in front of my system ... not much room left when the bed is down so the wife is concerned about "enough room" for guests (Haha ... only a couple of days per year ) Cheers, Emile PS; yes, have a miniDSP on it ... horns are set at >500HZ ... still playing with the range on my Forte's ... ,500Hz makes them sound very "tiny," ,1000Hz is better; full range seems "best."
  18. OK; dumb beginner question I have a 15" subwoofer ( with a Dayton Audio 15" 4 Ohm woofer ... https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-rss390hf-4-15-reference-hf-subwoofer-4-ohm--295-468 ... specwise good from 18-800Hz). Why couldn't I use that as a bass bin? (Yeah; know I will need more power than my 45W Kenwood ) Cheers, Emile
  19. Using an APC H10 ... probably 10+ years old and no problems. (And Florida electric power is horrible )
  20. Thought about it, but believe (?) that would require more power, i.e. another amp
  21. Thank you again SIR Haha ... I am soo much a "beginner." Kept on turning the horns louder and louder ... sounded good to my ears but will (of course) follow your suggestions. Thank you SIR Cheers, Emile
