OK; put my VTA ST70 in the garage sale section to see if anyone is interested. Just made someone an offer for a Pioneer SX-1250 ... big beast (and big $$$) Just easier when playing with multiple speakers and multiple components

Just ask Bob Crites when you are ready order them ... anyhow ... if you have the "Z brackets," just reuse them.

Cornwalls Rule - What else fills a big room at this price?
Emile replied to wantabeach's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Yes ... Pro speakers ... IMHO "better." (Have Cornwall's and KPT-904's ... only problem with the "Pro's" is the WAF ) Cheers, Emile -
SOLD Bob Latino VTA ST70 tube amp + headphone amp $700
Emile replied to Emile's topic in Garage Sale
Just FYI ... the (unfinished) walnut wood pieces (first pic) are "loose." Was going to "finish" those and attach it to the sides for "looks." Will throw those in if you want them- 31 replies

SOLD Bob Latino VTA ST70 tube amp + headphone amp $700
Emile replied to Emile's topic in Garage Sale
Just for clarification ... $800 is probably too low; $900 maybe; $1000 probably; $1100 and I'll throw in a Little Dot 1+ tube headphone amp- 31 replies

Thinking of selling my Bob Latino VTA ST70 tube amp. Have over $1100 in it ... wondering if anyone is interested for $???. Selling it because I'm playing with multiple speakers, multiple vintage amps and multiple inputs ... just a pain switching this on these tube amps. No clue what it is worth ... any reasonable offers? Bought this as a kit 12/2017. Finished assembly 1/2018. Very, very nice unit with superior sound. 35W/ch. Includes Russian 6550 tubes, Russian caps, 21 stage attenuator and lucite VTA cover plate (to protect you from high voltage). Yes; transformers were painted prior to assembly. Probably less than 20 hours on the tubes ... not even fully burned in. Will post more pics if members are interested. Cheers, Emile

Thinking about selling my VTA ST70 ...and maybe build a pair of VTA M125 mono-blocks. Have over $1100 in it ... 7 months old ... probably used less than 20 hours (9550 tubes not even fully burned in). Just looking for some response before I put in in the garage sale No clue what a reasonable price is Cheers, Emile

Welcome! Some pics and additional input would be helpful. Restore to boxes? Restore the drivers? Etc ...
-
Way to go! "Centers" are marketing hogwash ... the best and true center is an identical speaker to your L/R's. Cheers, Emile

Was hoping to buy brand new Khorns with my commission OK; will "forego" my commission if you want to get them
-
Darn ... guess that's why they no longer have a "pair." BTW; awesome set-up ... pretty jealous
-
Darn ... there goes my commission
-
FYI, sold a nice pair about 2 months ago for $250 (w/Ti diaphragms). Bought them for $400. Same method I use in the stock market ... buy high, sell low Just remembered ... @wvu80 keeps track of Heritage prices ... maybe he's got info on KG4's also
-
Update. Set is down to $1100 ... changed thread heading. But ... now pretty sure it is a model "B" WITHOUT a crossover
-
Checking on my commission. Haha; just kidding just curious Good luck
-
Yeah ... all I got was turn TVA-70 to max; use pre-amp for volume. Yes; works very good ... just "limited" max volume (say 85-88dB's on Forte's).
-
Used Heresy's are $300-$400 a pair. If you want to save more, try some of the KG series ... I often see "smaller" KG's on CraigsList for less than $200. And they do sound very good. Haha, then (later) upgrade to the Heritage or Pro speakers
-
Darn ... they look AWESOME
-
Yeah ... that's what I thought Just "roughly" measured it with a sound meter ... will try my Umik microphone when I get a chance. Many thanks, Emile

rjp, thanks! I have the (standard) Bob Latino ST-70, with the 21 step attenuator (and Russian 6550 tubes and caps). Understand the linear vs log attenuation now - thanks! But ... still a bit puzzled why the 35 Watt ST-70 gives me a lot less volume than my 35 Watt vintage Kenwood. Well, moot point now as my wife is returning from a trip ... meaning won't be checking max sound levels till she leaves again Cheers, Emile
