  1. I’d like to try an espresso machine, but not enough to pony up for a new one. Is yours for sale Rich @rplace? I’d also like to publicly thank @jwc for taking time to reassure me regarding my upcoming HoLEP laser prostate surgery at The University of Michigan Hospital on Tuesday. The more research I do, the more confident I am in my decision to put my urethra in the hands of the surgeons at U of M. That doesn’t sound quite right. 😉 FYI, the following illustrates how HoLEP surgery works. I’m glad I’ll be out cold during the procedure.
  2. Probably not, but my mild OCD would be appeased if they were the same.
  3. Very cool. Didn’t Kirk Douglas and James Mason use the one on the right in 20,000 Leagues . ..?
  4. What woofer(s) is/are in them? If they are the same brand, I would have both re-coned. If different, such as one Jensen and one Stephens, I’d only re-cone the mouse bait. How about some photos?
  5. That is an excellent opportunity for someone in the Bay Area.
  6. We too are inundated with previously “Canadian” geese. They no longer migrate to Canada, eh? Around here they’re known as flying carp. Their large droppings are everywhere.

    Jokes?

    I’ll wear my Spartan PJs.

    Jokes?

A week from today I’m having HoLEP surgery at U of M Hospital to address BPH. Apparently, my prostate is the size of a small Buick. Hopefully, after the “non-invasive” surgery, the urge to use each restroom I pass will pass.
  9. After reading several of Dave’s threads regarding DynaQuad, I purchased one on eBay and had several phone conversations, and exchanged several emails, with Dave about his use of DynaQuad. Dave was a treasure.
  10. This thread is extremely interesting. Thank you @Langston for sharing your thoughts and experiments. With the assistance of Bob Crites and Dennis, aka djk, I incorporated 3636 autotransformers into La Scalas (with the djk bass mod) used in a high school band practice room, KP 201s used in a middle school band practice room, and several iterations of “Super” Heresys for home use. The ability to adjust the squawker outputs in 1db increments made fine tuning the speakers for the vastly different spaces relatively easy. As an aside, this post makes me feel old when “the late” could refer to Bob, Dennis, and PWK.
  11. As did I with the oxymoron crack. I knew you could take it. I have a couple Hawaiian shirts, one of which I bought in Hawaii, another at a local thrift shop. EDIT: 6/17/21 I stand corrected. The pocket matches on the expensive shirt purchased in Honolulu; it does not match on the thrift shop shirt.
  12. Value is in the eye of the beholder. They wouldn’t be worth $200 each to me, but I can see where they could be to someone else.

    Dang ticks....

Ticks are what drove me to digital.
  14. As PBS Passport members we were perusing the PBS channel through Roku and stumbled across the Classic Albums series. The making of many classic albums is covered in documentary format. We watched the episodes regarding No Secrets and The Plastic Ono Band. They were very interesting. There are many more. I strongly recommend the series. EDIT: 6/17/21 Apparently, the documentary series originated with the BBC, but is now available on several streaming platforms. We watch it on the PBS channel through ROKU. Our donation of $100 per year makes us “Passport” members with unlimited access to many excellent PBS offerings in addition to the Classic Albums series. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_Albums The episodes about DSOTM and American Beauty were also very interesting. I look forward to enjoying more episodes.
  15. You are not an expert if your information is totally from Google.
  16. With luck, the seller still has the badges, but, in any event, they appear to be a bargain.
  17. The following is copied from Dave’s forum signature. The linked “BLOG” is interesting. Somewhere I have some pipe organ recordings Dave posted years ago. I’ll look for them. David A. Mallette "If it sounds good, it IS good!" - Duke Ellington If you are SERIOUSLY bored, my BLOG. Some thoughts on audio in there if you look hard enough.
  18. I’ll listen to some of Dave’s pipe organ recordings to remember him. Until I spoke with Dave on the phone, I always pronounced his last name in my head like the hammer mallet. He pronounced it Mah - let’.
  19. Dave’s at peace now. He will be missed.
  20. That doesn’t look like the djk bass mod I know.
