  9. @Danomite This is the bottom line. Your Marantz avr is rated @ 125 wpc clean with 2 channels driven, 8 ohm load. It will not do this while driving 5 or 7 channels, isn't gonna happen. And the OP clearly likes very high volume levels. He is clipping the Marantz amps resulting in elevated distortion levels and audible noise, @ high volume levels and source signal peaks. OP, you want to play your music loud in multi channel format, you need to step up to a powerful multi channel separate amp like an Anthem MCA 525. You can run this downstream of your Marantz processor/pre outs. Or even very loud in 2 channel stereo operation. You need adequate amplifier power reserves and damping. Or sell the Marantz and go separates. A multi channel processor/preamp and a powerful and robust multi channel power amp, or multiple amps. You want play your music really loud and clear (audibly free of distortion), be prepared to spend additional funds. Anthem 5 channel power amp: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_973MCA525/Anthem-MCA-525.html?tp=48757 Here is an excellent article/reference on sound level output and power amplifier requirements (note every incremental doubling of amp output power = 3db sound pressure increase) : https://www.audioholics.com/room-acoustics/the-decibel-db
  10. Amir has it going on, just read his testing procedures and explanations, especially on jitter. I like this quote from Amir below: "Many DAC manufacturers use off-the-shelf DAC chips from the same few silicon providers. Alas, two DAC implementations using identical DAC chips can have very different performance. Sadly, price, brand reputation, designer behind the product, glowing reviews and market adoption do not predict performance. I have tested over 120 DACs so far [now over 220] and the results are all over the place. Some no name low cost DACs have exceptional performance. Others from very well-respected companies retailing for thousands of dollars fail miserably when measured the same way." That would definitely circumvent what a few peeps here believe. They blindly believe if you throw enough cash at it, it just has to be a great product. Sort of like $1000 amp power supply cables. Thx for the reference, MechEngVic.

    What I Got Today!

Firearms is another one of my hobbies. I enjoy working on them, collecting, and shooting. I favor Glocks for their total reliability and durability, but i have other manufacturers too. In today's world I don't leave home without it, like my driver's license or credit card. My G-22 sleeps under my pillow every night. Imagine a world (even in America) where people are not even safe in their church worshiping, at a concert, walmart, or attending school.

    What I Got Today!

I ordered these from Numrich Gun Parts on line. The sights are new and labeled as Kensights, and reasonably priced. They fit just like the Colt oem parts I replaced. Just looked at the package again and its labeled "vintage Colt rear sight assembly". I had ordered a front sight blade off ebay probably a year ago and it didn't fit right. It was supposed to be an oem Colt front blade to fit a Python. The Kensights came with adjustable rear assembly, the two compression springs, and two roll pins (one extra). I am pleased.

  18. @kratsmit Oh yes, those are in beautiful condition. Signed by PWK.....no way would I sell em. Marriage is all about compromise, give and take.
  19. Or fill your newly cut port with a piece of dense foam, a plug. Hobby Lobby sells foam in 2 and 3" thick sheets. I purchased a couple sheets to make plugs for my CW3 ports, an experiment in ported vs sealed cab. Bass reflex to sealed in 60 seconds for two heresy cabs.
