  1. I was thinking of using them for rear surrounds in a 5.1 system. Was hoping the wedge design would save a liittle space when placed in a corner up right. Was kind of wondering how they sounded? 2 way design, one review compared them to older cornwalls?
  2. Have a lead on a pair of ksm 2's for 140.00 or trade, are they worth it? If I go look at them anything I need to look at/check. Thanks!
  3. 2 subs are not always about spl but a more balanced sound/bass output. I would listen to the first sub see how you like and how it fills the room.
  4. I have looked at those but the- orbital-keep me away from them. Now I'am thinking the corners of my rectangluar pad sander are what caused the swirls. Thanks, I will have to try one of round pad sanders.
  5. Curious which brand-model? I never had much luck with them fine sanding, but then mine is the old rectancular style. Might be time for an upgrade.
  6. Personal I have bad luck with orbital sanders, every time I used one they left swirl marks on project. I sand by hand with grain or on tough projects a belt sander. Jim, above has some good advice.
  7. Would it be possible to move the tv to the wall left of where it is now. If so I would do a 5.1with front height speakers. The way the room is now you have the distance for a 7.1, but rear speakers might be to close to people on sofa. The side speakers I think would be hard to balance since they would be mounted an unequal distance off center. I would switch tv/furniture to the short wall and set up as 5.1 with front height. The way it is now on the long wall I think it might be hard to get the speakers to balance correctly.
  8. If you could post room size, H x L x W. Are there open areas like hallways or open kitchen ect. Pics of the room where HT is to be set up would also help. Needed info to detrrmine how /which set up (7.1or 5.1)is best for your room.
  9. If you decide to try diy HD sells red oak in a variety lengths and widths.
  10. I bought a use motorize screen, mine has/had limiters that could adjust the up and down location. It was located on the left end cap of the screen. Make sure your screen is level, my was off about 3/4 of an inch and was noticable,11 foot screen. What are your intial settings for your set up. ( crossover and slope settings if your have them) Are you getting any harshness from the EV's? Thanks, l'am working on something similar.
  11. If your like me good deal or not another pair of speakers something I don't need anyway, I was tempted.
  12. They where in craigslist atlanta under electronics. Just checked and the listing is gone, must have sold. Sorry I did not post link, having to use my phone right till I get my computer up.
  13. Atlanta craigslist 800 bucks for cornwall II
  14. I have both I and II,s, the tops on mine measure exactly the same.
  15. Does the location of the port affect the sound? Looks likes yours and negatons are center a 1/3 of the way up up the side of the horn. Are these going to be a 2 way design, haven't seen any mention of a separate tweeter. Thanks'
  16. Thanks! The 18 by 10 is shorter in length but 17 by 10 fits better on top of my chorus ll. I like the sound so guess I will stay with them.
  17. Did Chris change the holes because your speakers will be standing up right? Looks good so far, looking forward to seeing finished cabinets.
  18. Textreme a new fabric being used in speakers. Read an article on it not too long ago, looks promising. I will be looking forward to your review.
  19. For this, sorry for the confusion. And Pete thanks for the amp reference, I like the features.
  20. Thanks again carl! Amp does look nice, will have to look into it next month when I have more cash. Never really liked plate amps. For now I am going with the yamaha, only 40 bucks so really can't go wrong for a temp. solution. Thanks!
  21. I am looking at a Yamaha ax 592 integrated amp, 100wpc with 18 hz low pass filter. Figure I could use my avr for high pass filter. Would this amp work for .my f20, I can pick it up cheap. Would only be a temporary till I get at little more cash for a bigger amp. Thanks!
  22. These are zxpc right? Iam using the zxpc 17 by 11 on top of my chorus ll and really like the sound. Do you favor one horn over. Thought about trying the 18 by 10 but not sure it would be an upgrade.
  23. You could look as some of the zxpc horns, I am running the 17 by 10's on top of chorus II. 18 by 8 (I believe) are also popular and suppose to have polars close to the k510. He is an Ebay seller and average price is around 40 bucks a horn + shipping.
