How about connecting a controlled source direct bypassing the pre?

That would have been a great deal for someone like me that has the parts, doesn’t need badges, and would use them as they are meant to be.

I’m not sure you’ll be able to save those rare badges. Sanding them will certainly destroy them.

I’d say placement would be the big factor.

More thoughts. If the ball moves you just need to clean the rust from in front of it while it’s back. Scotch bright, a broom stick, wd40. Rinse repeat. Super glue? JB weld! and yet again a broom stick. Might be harder to clean off. Neither will work unless ball is clean clean.

Better to lose a ball than the cannon.

I’d check all connections first. Then swap tweeters if still not working to eliminate crossovers.

I’m not sure, but I think someone on here got them. Or a pair just as ugly.

With Chorus II you probably won’t need drivers unless one is bad. Maybe rebuild crossovers. Forte would be a bit smaller.
