  1. I ended up buying a set of Sony's with a sub for now but I am on the hunt for some big boys! There is no replacement for displacement! The Sony's sound great in my small listening room but I like music that gives you goose pimples from the bass and crystal highs that make the hair on your neck stand up! I'd love to get a set of Cornwall's or La Scala's but it will be a while until I can afford heritage!
  2. I just picked up a vintage Sony STR-V4 receiver! It churns out 50 under-rated watts per side. It's paired up to a set of Sony SSCS5's speakers and a Sony SACS9 subwoofer right now but I am on a long, slow hunt for an affordable set of Cornwall's or La Scala's! I also have a vintage Sony CD player and hoping to find a Sony TCK-44 cassette deck to round off the system! I also have an Amazon Echo Dot hooked up so I can stream from Amazon Music or IHeartRadio!
  3. I picked up a beautiful Sony STR-V4 receiver and I would like to pair it with some Klipsch bookshelf speakers but I can't decide which ones to get! I want bookshelves mainly due to size restrictions and budget! I can only pony up about $250-300 right now so I have been looking at these guys: RB-51ii R-15M KB-15 Icon Synergy B-200 It looks like I am stuck at 5.25" woofers for this price range...question is, with 5.25" speakers jam pretty decent? Is there a big difference in 6" or 8" woofers that would justify blowing the budget and pissin' the wifey off?
  4. What is the difference between Klipsch R-120SW and R-12SW 12" powered subs? I glanced over the spec sheets for both but I really don't see a glaring difference other than price and the brass screws holding the driver in on the R-120SW! Nothing critical...I am just curious! https://2d73e25b29782b6d6766-9c8af5cbfef16739445bc76457060528.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/R-12SW_-_Spec_Sheet_635424116723382000.pdf https://d2um2qdswy1tb0.cloudfront.net/product-specsheets/R-120SW_Spec-Sheet_v01.pdf
  5. Well guys! I bagged a set of Mediabridge sub cables and a Y-Adapter and hooked the second sub up lastnight! Maybe my ears aren't as fine tuned as some of yours but it sounded fantastic!! The bass engulfs the whole room and still pounds you right in the chest! Still has plenty of mid and treble for crisp highs and vocal/movie dialog! I am hooked and a lifetime Klipsch fan!
  6. Yes, no harm in trying it out! Worst case, I'll pick up another R12SW
  7. I pulled the spec sheets on both subs and they are surprisingly similar! Freq range is close...
  8. Both subs are ported...both of them have ports on the rear panel.
  9. My kids surprised me with an R-12SW for Father's Day! Bad new is that there are no RCA Y-Adapters at Wal-Mart and I can't find any in my box of cables! Had to order on Amazon but won't be here until Tuesday!! I ordered 2 new 8 foot sub cables as well. Now I can't wait to hook this bad boy up and see what happens!
  10. I would go with another KSW but I haven't been able to find any NOS or good deals on used plus the fact that it is hard to trust a used speaker! I have 610F towers...the bass from them is OK but not stellar. In my mind, (which can be a dangerous place) I imagined that the down firing sub would drop more of a muddy LFE bass while a front firing sub will produce that in your chest pounding base...complimenting each other! I guess we'll find out! As soon as I get the new sub, I'll report back!
  11. I don't have a lot of room...they are going to go on either side of the TV stand inside of the towers.
  12. Crypto is really down right now! Good time to build your bags at lower costs but not good for investments! I had $1200 invested last year and it is like $229 right now! But I'm not scared, I do believe it will skyrocket back up at some point...just gotta wait it out!
  13. I am thinking about getting a new R-12SW front firing sub to add to my current down firing KSW12 sub. I would hook it up with a Y adapter from my Yamaha RX-V385. My question is...would these 2 mismatched subs work together well or would it be sketchy? I figure that I can dial each sub in from the back panels once I get the AVR settings good, but I'd like to hear from some of you guys that know way more than me!
  14. I used to do a lot of gun photography for gun reviews and blogs...
  15. Here is some info on my favorite...the La Scala Industrial! lascala-ind.pdf
  16. Seems pretty good now...I was getting a lot of hang time yesterday morning.
  17. I am not a pro designer by any means, but here is my price list for reference...I charge by the project...not by the hour. Logo design is $100 and up so your offer should be solid depending on how complex the design is... https://webfinitydesign.com/graphics/
  18. Thanks guys! I actually did try google but I was in images looking for the same model I had...that is where I noticed so much variation in models. Like I also have some SF1 towers that keep changing to SF2's or Synergy, etc...had a hard time finding my exact models! But I will poke around the website!
  19. Sounds like a plan!! I can't remember now, but I am willing to bet that the 4 full range speakers in the old club were Klipsch also. They were flown on the trusses in each of the 4 corners. They would be a little harder to get, LOL!
  20. I love this!! I certainly hope your neighbors, 3 blocks down, enjoy whatever you are listening to, LOL!!
  21. I wish...they belonged to the club, not me. But I would like to buy them!
  22. Is there any place to look up specs and info on older, discontinued Klipsch products? Someplace that shows model numbers and stuff? For example, I have an IV RC52 center channel with copper woofers and a magnetic grille. But I can't find much info on the exact model?
