is it a daihatsu? Brought me back for a minute. There is this guy we call Officer TJ Hook-Worm always after us giving parking tickets. I have to switch the cars parked on Tuesdays and Thursdays street sweeping. That was alot of fun.
  5. Yes the 8 ohm rating in specification is correct (not 6 ohms). Your woofer reading of 4 ohm is correct and so as your reading in the cabinet speaker jack. To simplify your search, the whole cabinet with the speakers connected to the original simple crossover / dividing network will give you a total sum of 8 ohms when it is in operation. You wont be able to measure it accurately not running. Don't worry and you should be fine. I been in your situation before asking the same question and I found out that is the design for these speakers. Not just that model but there are lots of klipsch speakers reads and behave similar to yours. The owners just dont pay attention to it. Anyways no need to worry, you're just fine.
  6. Just following up if you have your supply with the 6c33c-b tubes? I'm also looking for a tester for the same tube. Thanks, CCG

  10. Let us know how it works on a longer term "approximately 6 months" setup. I was think about getting a pair if it holds up pretty well.
  11. I'm not really a bookshelf person but I was able to hook up one of these on my system. These are wonderful speakers and even the bass dynamics is incredible. Just like any klipsch works well with tone controls. You'll be very happy with it. Enjoy.
  12. Bump on previous follow-up...😺
  13. Thread resurrection. Can someone please explain this anomaly about the Klipsch cabinet specifying 8 ohms??? Set of KG-3.5 - "8 ohms" - reads 3.9 ohms on speaker output Set of R-610F - "8 ohms compatible" - reads 3.9 ohms on speaker output Worried.. Both of my tube amps designated for each speakers are 8 ohms speaker output (no 4-ohms). I just don't want to wake up one day and my output transformer is toast. Even the Klipsch woofer lets say K-1054-KVis reading 3.5 ohms. if this is a 4 ohm unit, then why specify nominal loudspeaker impedance as 8 ohm. This specification is beyond me... Anyone? Thanks, CCG
  14. Enjoy the Festival and your deck after it gets serviced...
  15. This is a good topic and would like to know more what is the ideal square footage or room size in feet to accommodate the Corwalls.. In a way knowing the ideal size so I can get the speakers maximum potential or I'd say its sweetest volume spot. Just for example I have a listening 19' x 17' feet 324 sq-ft. The minimum ideal speaker size in my is 6.5 to 7 inch single woofer floorstand cabinet. Anything over that is too loud for me especially when I kick the volume to close to 100 db. Which by the way I can do it on my speakers the sound that's coming out of my speakers is pure music not loudness. I can easily speak to my wife and be well understood at that volume level. If i was using and 8 inch or up on the same db, we wouldn't be able to communicate. On my living room which is a 30' x 20' feet - 600 sq-ft, I'm using a modded KG-3.5 single 8 floorstander and this is just perfect for me. If i go 10 inch or up, its already too loud for me. We have another house that has 1,000 sq ft listening room. I already have the amp and pretty much I can drive almost any home speakers. I was looking at the heritage lines and the more I look, study and listen to the local demo's, the more I was leaning towards the Cornwalls IV. I notice it it has an excellent bottom end plus it has a very good imaging sound (not as great as the La Scala) but I will easily vote the Conrnwalls in over all and since I don't drive subwoofers too. I just wanna make sure that the Cornwall will not over power the 1000 sq ft. "realistically". PS: please keep in mind that my experiences are only for "personal preference" and not to be meant as a general or standard based comment. 😺
  16. bake the tapes to 135 degrees (no more than 140 degrees) for around 4 hours, let it cool and for another 3 hours before you start using it.😺
  17. That's a good one. I have a Tandberg TCD310 cassette deck. That was the only deck I know that can keep up or playback even better on some of my Nakamichi collection. I saw the motor it was twice bigger! I was watching the youtube channel in how Germany is geared up making those Super Hi-End Turntables. The only thing I can see my self is a drop jaw...😹
  18. Some of the members in the other site... "Oh you're gonna master some old vinyls?" They want digital samples. Otherwise I'd be happy with the reels and cassettes tapes... ☺️ https://vimeo.com/798975637
  19. @MicroMara I was able to get my hands on the original pressing of the 1985 Mike and the Mechanics sealed. I mastered it on the new reel deck. I wish I had a brand new audua tape it would have been a blast. After the DAW, I transferred it to reel, then reel to Nakamichi 680zx and Tascam hand held digital all at the same time. The reel to reel sounds very warm, crystal clear and spacy.
  20. Very good point. Anyway I don't use headphones on reels besides re-mastering. I don't hear it at all on the actual system with speakers.
