    Try www.acousticsound.com. SSH
  3. Rob, The most often given advice is to demo as many units as possible in as similar an environment as possible. That said, many of us are happy with our choices, since we hear with our own ears,& are eager to recommend "our" brands-especially Klipsch.I use a Marantz SR9300 for HT,& recommend Marantz.THD is .05% in this unit, too.I'd be more concerned with listening than with comparing numbers, though. SSH
  4. Music needs rests,or it's noise to me.If I take my lover for granted,my heart aches instead of soars.Cut-Throat put-out the wise word. SSH
  5. Let go of the $400 or the car is gone.If it's worth more than for scrap or parts, they'll send you an attempt to get the title.Their intentions will probably be somewhat veild (Protect your ownership rights,etc.).Been there with a really nice '68LTD & I still have the original document.I was broke.Education is expensive. SSH
  6. Ice cream,popsicles,hugs & no tonsillitis.Good vibes abound. SSH
  7. Yeah,m00n,it's a very professional looking job, & I'm glad to see that the seats worked out so well.I'd guess that your new center channel blew you away on the first movie you watched with it.What was its' maiden view(I probably missed that thread)? SSH

    SACD hissing

I have no problem with my copy of Dark Side of the Moon.In fact,it is superb playing on the Marantz sr9200 & 299A. SSH
  9. Great makeover. How you shape the styrofoam on the tail piece?I used automotive trim moulding, but am considering the stair tread add-on. SSH

Anxiously waiting for Jeff's monoblocks to ship! SSH
  11. I have a Celestron C8 Deluxe.I saw a used standard C8 in a newspaper classified ad for $800 a few months ago.One of my favorite sights is the moon, using a Nagler 31mm eyepiece. SSH
  12. boomac, Sounds like fun to me.On my first couple of listens to the 299, my jaw was dropped & I was giggly. Craig does make lots of people very happy.I've been looking forward to reading what your response would be.Glad about the WAF, too!It looks like you're making your way through the jazz list. It's great to be able to take good advice & like it. SSH
  13. Ditto that the mix for multichannel is critical. My first preference is hybrid multichannel,so I can also play on CD. SSH
  14. Chris, What a great road trip!I told a buddy who came in while I was reading this thread that there would be drool all over every Forum monitor at the thought of Khorns for a grand.I was bummed when I saw they lived in N.Y. The thought of Khorns at four corners & my LaS at center for HT & multichannel was too good to come true, especially since I'm going SET for 2ch soon.It probably saved me a heart attack.H#ll,I might have passed out if they had been in Arkansas. SSH
  15. Tom, Jeff confirms to start with the Sovteks. Please Email me. SSH
  16. Tom, What other tubes did you try,& what differences can you relate to me? SSH
  17. Tom, edster may be giving me best advice. Thanks,if I go with the Soveteks,I'll buy them.I'm thinking about how much more I like my 229A after getting Telefunkens. SSH
  18. I'll take the good advice, too.DF's Kamakiriad_ is great music. SSH
  19. Chris, I've almost ordered a pr of RCA biplates, but thought someone here might want to roll out a pr.I'm a little anxious, though. It would be much easier to look at tubes before I get the amps, than to have to drool over the amps without tubes. SSH
  20. So now I'm looking for tubes to go in Jeff's amps.Does someone have some good 2A3 & GZ37 tubes for sale? SSH
  21. Welcome to the Forum.Your new speakers will be about 96db efficient. When people talk about Klipsch efficiency, they often have in mind the Heresy series. While your 35s are relatively efficient, and they will not require the watts of many others, many receivers in your price range will be a suitable match.Listen for clean moderate wattage levels-You don't need 100 watts/channel to enjoy your Klipsch. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with having a hundred if the first few sound good.My Marantz 9200 is rated @ 140/channel x 7.I usually listen to about one of those watts with Kornerhorns, but it is a pretty clean ss sound.Try to audition with 35s,& buy according to your ears. SSH
  22. "Inagodadivida", by Iron Butterfly SSH
  23. Cut-Throat, I took a long line of advice, including Jeff's to decide on the 2A3.(Dean-I really do understand, but I'm wasting watts all over the place already.) Craig, And this, from you who helped me see the bright side of the dark side. Can you say "Horus" without chicken-boning? Guy, Merely a reprieve. Chris, I felt that way with a truly fine PP from Craig. boomac, You once asked me what one needs,to hear the plop of a saxaphone pad.I'm looking to feel the fuzz of the felt with these. It's the Klipsch that brings out the best, ladies & gents. We really are a lucky group of people. Here's to PWK, and no BS!
  24. Dean, I can hardly stay in the room running 1 watt through Khorns. My usual listening is done at 80-90DB. SSH
  25. Well,it is closer to eighty miles.I think I'll turn on the Scott.I'm getting ansy. SSH
