  1. Mine has been sitting unopened in the box for almost a month now as our family room is being remodeled. I'm crawling out of my skin waiting hear it, especially after your review. It's replacing a Mirage LF-150 10". I'm assuming the difference will be like night & day.
  2. We'll be waiting eagerly. I just hope you don't get overwhelmed with requests.
  3. Tom - I'd gladly pay you to make a pair for me. Thanks for your generous offer and let me any anyone else interested know when you have what you need to start mass producing those fine old logos.
  4. Good job Justin. My wife has MS and my daughter and I did the walk last weekend. All of us with friends or relatives with MS appreciate your efforts!
  5. What is the difference between decorator and non-decorator cornwalls. Mine look like Jim's but with veneer all around. What would a 1980 version of non-decorator look like?
  6. I also would like a pair or 2. If and when I modify my cornwalls to decorator, I would like to add the pie logos. In fact, I was about to inquire as to the availability of them. I too would also pay a premium. I'll email Klipsch regarding their demand. Thanks for bringing it up Andy.
  7. Those look great HDBR. If I do decide to modify my cornwalls, do you think I should bring the fronts flush with some 1/4" plywood under the veneer? Maybe I could make them removable like the current original black grills I have now. That would be cool - switchable fronts. I'm not too worried about the woofer grills since I have no pets or small children but if I did I assume I could easily find some in cornwall size.
  8. Yes. Like those. Were they modified or built that way. Looks like the front was built up to bring it to flush. What wood is that? From the picture they look like maple.
  9. Are those flush front cornwalls a modification or were they a special order build? They are spectacular. I am having a mantle custom built by an extremely talented carpenter and he asked about other wood in the room. I mentioned my zebrawood cornwalls and he told me he still works with zebrawood and could build my mantle to match the speakers (which I declined - too expensive). I started to think about those decorator cornwalls and brought up the subject with him. I have a couple concerns before considering this as a possibility. 1)What would this do to the value of my basically mint cornwalls 2)They are not flush front so would it look odd or would the 1/4 inch sides have to be veneered also and 3)Matching 23 year old laquered wood - he said he probably could match it pretty darn close by slightly darkening the laquer if necessary and testing. I gave him the above picture (I'm not sure who they belong to) and he's going to think about it and let me know what I'd be in for. Like I said, he is an incredibly talented woodworker and I think the result could be amazing but is this a ridiculous idea? Any thoughts?
  10. Is that HDBR jogging with the hottie on the left?
  11. Scott - Our wives, IMO should be more understanding. At least our obsessions keep us home. Or maybe that's the problem......
  12. After 23 years mine still look new. First wood soap treatment was about a month ago. The 1 or 2 small scratches disappeared after that. Got good advice from HDBR on that (he also built them). Sorry for the scare. Daylight savings time has me sleep deprived.
  13. Sorry. That was for BClark451. I seem to be braindead today. Probably because I'm at work.
  14. That recommendation was for ShapeShifter BTW.
  15. I reccomend a one-time cleaning with wood soap. It will also help blend in some of your scrathes. Just frequent dusting and yearly light coat of endust or the like is all they need otherwise.
  16. As I said the last time this thread made its way around, the avalanche scene in XXX is the best wall shaking scene I've heard. And I agree that Saving Private Ryan (opening beach scene), the cave scene in Lord of the Rings and T2 are all great to show off your system. My local Tweeter dealer shows the cave scene in Lord of the Rings when trying to sell a system.
  17. Kev - Comparing what the 9/11 suicide terrorists did to what our soldiers are doing in Iraq now is absurd to say the least. Killing thousands of innocent people because of ANY reason is insane, not brave. What our troops are doing (risking their lives for) is attempting to avoid this type of terror and the murder of innocent lives in the future, whether it be flying planes into skyscrapers, testing chemical weapons on your own people or using human shredders against people who disagree with your political policies. As much oil as Iraq has, what percentage of the population do you think can afford a pair of Klipsch speakers? How nice would your HT system be if you were an average Iraqi citizen? This is what our "brave" troops are attempting to change. It may not work but that is the intent.
  18. Lots of classic rock and tons of Grateful Dead. Heavy reliance on tape deck over the years.
  19. McQueene - You've got mail. P.S. I hope you don't take the wife comment personally.
  20. It is a good deal and there are others, especially if you purchased any klipsch equipment from tweeters recently. I bought most of my HT stuff from tweeters a few months ago and I'm thinking about upgrading a couple items. They have a 1 year (or so) upgrade policy with full credit toward more expensive equipment. Since all their klipsch is now about 33% off it may be a good time to upgrade. Items are going fast and some may be floor samples so act quick if you're interested. I already have them holding a new sub for me (the last one in a box).
