peshewah Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 A seller on craiglist installed klipsch in his truck.http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/1310050035.html Quote
colterphoto1 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 No they don't, but I have some 650, 1650, 2650 in wall models that could be used for 6.5" installation with separate tweeters. Or you could build a box for them for behind seats or pickup truck style. Quote
M6 Driver Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Colter what about this? Didn't Klipsch and Pyle have something going on in the eighties? http://www.adelcom.net/PyleDrivers1.htm Quote
JJkizak Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I suppose if your vehicle is big enough. JJK Quote
Moderators dtel Posted August 11, 2009 Moderators Posted August 11, 2009 I thought I had read in his book PWK installed a system in a friends car, that's a one of a kind ! Quote
Islander Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Klipsch used to make car speakers, but there were too many complaints about reduced gas mileage... Quote
Islander Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The sound was great, but there were also complaints about the vehicle's centre of gravity being shifted, compromising the handling. But the sound was great! Quote
M6 Driver Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I remember when in high school 1986 my buddy had a pyle enclosure in the back of his corvette. Looked very much like an acadamy just in an angled box. He mentioned Pyle was part of Klipsch in some sorta Kevin Bacon way. Quote
Saturn5 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Reminds me of the story a friend of mine told me about buying his K-horns. He picked them up himself from the dealer in his '65 Impala SS Convertible. He said he put them in the back seat, standing up, for the drive home. Guy pulled up next to him at a light and yelled "Rock & Roll!!!" [] I don't know if it's true, but it's a great mental image. Quote
Coytee Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 but there were too many complaints about reduced gas mileage Well, ya big lunk....everyone knows they are supposed to point backwards for that turbo-power effect. Just how high would the space shuttle go if the engines were pointing upwards on takeoff? [*-)] Quote
colterphoto1 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 That's 310 pounds of 'Be Very Afraid' Klipsch muscle there. Quote
sunburnwilly Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 A guy I knew in HS used to carry Cornwalls around in his van . A bit of a weird cat but it was cool hanging out at the beach with the Cornwalls blasting out some loud rock n roll . Shame my buddy with the LaScalas didn't have a van . Quote
TNRabbit Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Here ya go; excuse the crappy video/sound quality: Quote
fini Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Here ya go; excuse the crappy video/sound quality: What year is your Toyota PU? Mine's a 93... Quote
winchester21 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I am cursed with 2 sets of premium BLOWS sound systems in both cars. No choice. I was listening to a CD in one last night and reflecting just how $hitty these awful systems really are. Too bad that klipsch did not seize this opportunity with the car companies back in the day before this garbage became standard equip. It sucks and sucks and sucks. I hate it. Quote
