willland
Natalie Merchant - Tigerlilly --- A treasure trove of the bass, mids, highs Natalie Merchant - Ophelia --- Same as Tigerlilly Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds - Live at Radio City Music Hall(Bluray) --- Incredible dueling acoustic guitars and Daves great vocals John Mayer - Where the Light Is, Live in Los Angeles - IMO, his best work. jhoak
It quickly occurred to me that I was taking out the same CDs to play the same “reference” songs every time I made a change to my system. So I made a CD of those songs. Here’s the list: 1) Eagles – Hotel California (Hell Freezes Over) 2) Mark Knopfler – The Long Road (The Best of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler Private Investigations) 3) Black Eyed Peas – Imma Be (The E.N.D.) 4) James Taylor – Gaia (Hourglass) 5) Eric Clapton – Old Love (Unplugged) 6) Santana – Sideways (Shaman) 7) Fleetwood Mac – Sara (Tusk) 8) Sting – Desert Rose (Brand New Day) 9) Supertramp – Bloody Well Right (Crime Of The Century) 10) Pink Floyd – Run Like Hell (The Wall) 11) Jackson Browne –Cocaine (Running On Empty) 12) Peter Gabriel – Don’t Give Up (So) It’s been surprising how many people who have visited here have heard most or all of this CD and asked for a copy. I’m happy to give them a list of the songs but I don’t distribute the music I have.

Boxx
Lots of great suggestions given here. By all means include in your "music test" the style of music that you listen to the most. It is your musical taste that you will want to satisy and that is of the utmost importance....
