ChuckAb3
'Christmas on the Rhine' .... ancient ('50's?) vinyl with German carols. Hard to find and probably never made it to cd's. If you see a copy in a used vinyl store, gargae sale, etc., grab it.
Fjd
These are more about reminiscing of holidays past from a nostalgic perspective for me, as when my mom was alive, these were her favorite albums that were always playing during the holiday season. Fjd
For those “other” parties during the holidays I seem to get requests for my Bob Rivers collection. "I AM SANTA CLAUSE," sung to the tune of "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath, except the last ten notes on the prominent guitar riff are replaced with five notes from Jingle Bells. Be sure to check out the Elves named “Naughty” and “Nice” and Ozzy shooting out his TV over this rip of his song. http://youtu.be/CRW2poUfJ34 Edited December 4, 2014 by Fjd
LarryC
I have a favorite old LP of German Christmas carols with Hermann Prey the lead singer. Not exactly this recording, but it's probably pretty good: http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-With-Vienna-Choir-Boys/dp/B000003ESB Edited December 4, 2014 by LarryC

Chris A
And now for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: Includes a Tuvan throat singer quartet singing "Jingle Bells", etc. Victor Wooten on bass, Bela fleck on banjo...and jazz improv all the way. muel
For Perry Como fans they have re-released the Complete RCA Christmas collection on a 3 CD set. They say it has every song but it is actually missing a couple of songs from his "Sings Merry Christmas Music" album. This is easily forgiven though... as it is wonderful to have it filling the house with Christmas music for a couple of hours! I don't know how it compares to the original LP because ours is quite worn and has had a permanent skip for the last 40 years or so.

Chris A
This year, the number of Christmas music discs has decreased from prior years, but I'm in process of remastering the ones that I've got on hand. Some of these recordings are like turning lead to gold after unmastering, including many of the discs that I posted in this thread in the past three years. Here are some new ones for us: Have a good holiday season, and take the time to slow down and enjoy it. Chris A
Just a note on the holiday season discs that I've unmastered. The following titles required a significant amount of correction, but generally yielded surprisingly good results: Adrian Bella - [Christmas Guitar]City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra - [sounds of Christmas - Christmas Symphony]Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Andrew Litton, Director - [Dallas Christmas Gala]Dave Brubeck - [A Dave Brubeck Christmas]Harry Connick Jr. - [When My Heart Finds Christmas]James Taylor - [James Taylor At Christmas]John Williams and the Boston Pops - [Prokofiev Peter And The Wolf Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Suite]JOSH GROBAN - [NOEL]King's College Choir - [O Come, All Ye Faithful]London Symphony Orchestra - [A Festival of Christmas Carols]Los Angeles Guitar Quartet - [Dances from Renaissance to Nutcracker]Mannheim Steamroller - [Christmas]Octavia Harp Ensemble - [Angels We Have Heard on High]Philadelphia Brass Ensemble - [A Festival of Carols in Brass]Placido Domingo - [Placido Domingo and the Vienna Choir Boys]Roger Wagner Chorale - [To Catch a Christmas Star]The Moody Blues - [December]Tim O'Neill - [spirit of the Season - Volume I]Trans-Siberian Orchestra - [Christmas Eve and Other Stories]Trans-Siberian Orchestra - [The Christmas Attic]Trans-Siberian Orchestra - [The Lost Christmas Eve]Various - [KVIL - A Grand Piano Christmas '96]Various - [An Old World Christmas]Various - [Christmas Adagios]Various - [Ron Chapman's Christmas Oldies Volume Two]Various - [season's Greetings - WRR Classical 101 FM]Various - [The Baroque Christmas Album]Various - [The Baroque Christmas Album]Yellowjackets - [Peace Round] Some of the needed corrections were quite large. Highly recommended. Chris P.S., PM me if you wish to see the unmastering curves for this one.
