Klipsch Forte ll for sale- Mint condition, original boxes and paper work!

I bought a pair of Klipsch Speakers from Riley Electronics in Evansville, IN back in 1988. These are sequentially numbered speakers, no scratches, no dings, no dents, mint condition. I still have the paper work and original boxes, however, I would not want to ship the speakers in the boxes alone as time has taken its toll on the cardboard. I will ship the speakers, at your cost, in the original boxes, but packed in a larger box so as to not rely on the original boxes for protection. The speakers are in a solid Walnut cabinet that has been very well taken care of.

The speakers were powered with a Yamaha Natural Sound true 500 Watt per channel RX930 with a Yamaha Eq. The speakers sound perfect. Volume was turned up a few times, of course, they are Klipsch, but not run at high volume much. These speakers are not rare, BUT perfect speakers with original paper work and original boxes in mint condition ARE. I am not sure of the true value, I have been watching these speakers sell here in the Forum and on Ebay for anywhere between $500 and $1,000, but none that I have seen, are as perfect as these speakers. So here is your chance to own classic speakers. Make an offer, but please, do not offend me with an offer less than $800, I won't even respond. I will ship via PayPal or you can arrange a pick up in Birmingham. I work with many banks so there is a way to complete the transaction, if PayPal is not your bag. I can send you pics from every angle or any specific photos.

Solid walnut cabinets would be rare. They are more likely walnut veneer like the rest of the heritage series.

I have a few pair of original Forte, they are great speakers.

Good luck with your sale.

The cabinets are particleboard with veneer overlay.

$800 is very high even for a mint pair of Forte II's, never saw a pair sell for that around here.

Might try ebay for best results.

I certainly don't want to interfere with anyone's pricing with regards to their speakers. However, to help offer a hand in getting them sold, I'll say this. There is usually a direct correlation with pricing and the time it takes to sell. I have seen speakers being offered for sale that took forever to sell because of higher than market pricing. On the other hand, I've sold items a bit below market to quickly move them. That said, unless a really uninformed buyer comes along, it might take a while to sell these for $800. I know I passed on a pair of minty walnut Forte II's in my area a couple of years ago, because seller was asking $600. I later bought a set in black, in good condition, for $400. Good luck with the sale. I they bring $800, that is wonderful, my black pair will then be on the market for at least $600.

Yep, exactly the case...a guy has some Klipschorns for sale locally on CL for a whopping $3,900.00...look foward to seeing that ad up for a long time...I'd put the Forte II's at between 400-600.00 if I actually WANTED to sell 'em. Doesn't hurt to try the market though...wait and watch.

To the Naysayers, I have been watching posts for Forte ll here on the Forum, Ebay, and CL for quite some time berfore listing my speakers on here. I have yet to see any comparable. Sure, I have seen some oak cabinets, with scratches and cracks, and I have seen some walnut Forte ll's for $600 with torn speakers and blown tweeters, so $800 for a pair with the boxes, paper work, and no scratches, scars defects of any kind, seems to be in fact, rare. Yes, I could lower my price so you could get a bargain. Certainly, if you think the price is too high, just say so in your mind and move on. Why be dorks and comment on my post? If you think my price of $800 is too high, that is your opinion and I suggest you invest in black generic Forte ll's that have defects, or oak, or walnut cabinets with scratches and cracked bases or torn components. It's your money, go ahead and get a deal for less than $800 and have to put money into speakers that you have no idea who has owned or how hard the speakers have been used. Average price for Forte ll speakers is around $600 and not in good condition, these are in excellent condition. I stand corrected on the cabinets, they are laminate with a walnut overlay. I will be happy to provide any pics.

Typical Forum protocol is not to comment on price. Speakers are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

However, in your original post said:

"Make an offer, but please, do not offend me with an offer less than $800, I won't even respond."

I think that is the comment on your part that invited some criticism. The forum is a friendly place and we typically don't offend people on price and prefer PM messages to discuss pricing issues. We also prefer photos posted and a firm price, this is not a bid site.

I have been watching the prices in the Chicago area for 2 years now and prices range from $400-$700. (I have driven for 3 pair of orginal Forte paying: $150 with electronics, $160 with electronics, and $200, all in good condition). I have seen higher, but not often.

Hogfan, provided some useful info. You may get your asking price, but it may take a while. You might find a buyer faster on eBay.

Just a word of caution, this statement comes across as rude. We are a friendly bunch here. We do pay attention to how long people have been members and how much they contribute (post) to the forum, these factor into our trust for the seller. I would post some photos to show the condition, that is the best way to showcase what you are selling.

Good luck with the sale.

A forum member recently helped my daughter and son-in-law find a pair of mint walnut Forte II's in N.C. for $450.00. There were no papers or original boxes however. I'm looking at the speakers as I type and they are like new.
