holtrp
Hey all, a local recycle company is parting out a local movie theater that went out of business. They said they have all the speakers, amp, projectors etc. I am going to have a look at what they have on Friday. I don't have any experience with pro gear. Any general advice? I imagine anything THX would be a score.

CECAA850
What city is it in? If it were me, I'd grab anything with a Klipsch badge on it. I'd also see if they had any QSC amps.
twistedcrankcammer
Let us know if it is Klipsch, and what you find! Roger

The Dude
I have a buddy up that way, don't know if he will make it to Anchorage any time soon. If you wouldn't mind spilling the beans on what the name of the recycling company, I am sure he could help you gather as much goodies as possible. Moderators Youthman Posted December 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2013 If you find anything like this, would you be willing to ship it to Florida? BTW, we had a low of 60 last night. Brrrrrr.

Moderators Youthman Posted December 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2013 Would be great if they could provide you with model numbers of the speakers they have for sale.
holtrp
Just talked to the guy... Lots of jbl which I really know nothing about. He isn't sure on the amps but I am going to meet up with him tomorrow... Any thoughts on jbl cinema stuff? On an aside, scooping a vpi 16 hw record cleaner off cl for $200 at lunch! Moderators Youthman Posted December 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2013 Many cinemas use JBL although I am not familiar with their Cinema Series. My only experience with JBL is I purchased (2) JBL SRX738 Speakers (3-way with 18" woofer) and (2) JBL SRX728S (dual 18" subs) subs for my student ministry room for $2000. They sound great. The Dude
JBL 2360s, and 2365s all ways looked good. They are large horns, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a pair. But shipping from there would be outrageous.
