minermark
I emailed the guy and offered $650, because that is what they have been going for a couple times a year around these parts, he just said perhaps I should just wait for the couple times a year. Fine, his loss.

Fine, his loss. You need to work on your craigslist skills. Don't haggle until you're face to face, and certainly don't throw price statistics in the seller's face via email. Show up ready to take and pay full price, haggle from there.

Handling other things in life perhaps, however I like to do my research, and say it like it is. in this deal the wife and I would both be taking Monday off, diesel expense, motel, and likely a casino or two, this trip could cost around 5 bones on the cheap, so yeah im going to take a shot and really don't care. I am always shopping for a La Scalla deal, and it WILL happen just like my last 60+ deals.....thanx for your input.

Remember speakers aint cars, you cannot test drive them first, im not driving 404 miles and be willing to pay $850 bones for a couple of wooden boxes. When I buy used speakers I expect the worse, can you imagian the cost of replacing everything in a LaScalla ? Before I plan a trip id like to at least have some of the cost incurred, done, this guy would not send a pic. Thaddeus Smith
I've driven 600 miles round trip a couple of times to buy speakers without ever hearing them, i get it. You seemed miffed that the guy wasn't interested in haggling with a craigslist tire kicker through e-mail and so i was simply giving some pointers.. just saying it like i saw it. ricktate
You can take an old boom box to test any speaker. I ran my Heresys off battery power when power was out. All who walked buy heard a party going on at my house we had Aladdin mantel lamps for light....and they also put out a lot of heat to ....put out about 75 watts of light......and rock and roll. The boom box is the type you can take speakers off so it is small. Rick Edited February 2, 2014 by ricktate

Rick It is said that Paul Klipsch demonstrated that the Klipschorn could reproduce Classical Concert level of sound powered by 1 watt per channel. Taz
As Carl said to me. These are in my neck of the woods. Lots of luck sneaking them in past the wife. Might have to move myself out to the shop. At least it has wood heat. . John
