mustang guy
http://www.klipsch.com/ks-7502-thx-in-ceiling-speaker oops, I was looking while you were posting.... Those babies were $999 each! WOW! Edited April 5, 2014 by mustang guy
mustang guy
Those would be perfect if you had an odd shaped room, and had to put the surrounds in the ceiling.
Schu
^ and I do... there is someone that has a pair locally for $800. I could probably get them for $675-$700 cash. they've been on CL for many weeks. HT is not my main drive and I am really happy with 3.1 right now, but these are a good buy I think. I just thought they looked massive in the photos he posted for his ad. Edited April 5, 2014 by Schu
USNRET
I need some nice in-walls for my funky room to try to work with Belles. What'll sorta work?
Schu
More belles...
USNRET
Schu, you need those. I would like to hear some. Yep, more Belles, I wish. I had 7 in my GA. home but alas, no room here. I have Hersey but they don't fit well and currently using some contractor installed surrounds that the installer obviously had no idea where they should be placed. beeker
Nice in walls! Start out at a $525 offer and bet you will get them for $6-650. I never really seen/looked at that particular pair before. Thems huuge They would be great movie speakers but wonder how they would perform with the thx certification with music.
Moderators Youthman Posted April 5, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2014 15" diameter is huge for an in ceiling speaker. Most have a single 8" driver. Never heard them myself.
Moderators Youthman Posted April 5, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2014 They are still selling on Ebay for $875 - $999 per speaker. There has only been one that has sold recently and it was a single speaker that sold for $579. This pair for $1593 did not sell. I'd say if you can get them for $800, that's a good price. If you can get them for less, even better.
Boxx
15" diameter is huge for an in ceiling speaker. My thoughts exactly....
derrickdj1
Hearing that a speaker is large on this forum is like speeding at the Indiy 500, lol. Those wood be some great speaker for a system. I bet they sound nice.
mungkiman
The 9-1/2" mounting depth might be more exciting than the 13-1/4" diameter...
Moderators Youthman Posted April 5, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2014 True....but the only reason we consider it as large is because we are comparing it to a typical size in-ceiling speaker.
Moderators Youthman Posted April 5, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2014 I wonder if the mounting depth is due to the speaker being in an "enclosure"? Some in-ceilings are just completely open on the back so they use your attic as the enclosure. Some in-ceiling speakers have an actual enclosure. NBPK402
I think they would be good for the voice of god channels in the upcoming multi channel setups.
