Probably the cause of my hum.

Nah, that's just the manifestation of the inability to sing.

Second time today someone asked me about singing.

First time some said asked if I could sing "By the Door."

I said I didn't know it.

They said, "Well just start and we will help you out."

Hospital Grade outlets always have a green dot.

I thought hospital grade outlets were orange.

Orange outlets have an isolated ground. It may or may not make a difference in any particular system.

I think just going from a regular 15 amp outlet to a 20 amp outlet will make a worthwhile improvement, and costs less than $5. The 20 amp outlets do grip the plug prongs much more tightly. It's easy to notice the difference.

That should be a sign of a better connection.

Well, your close, solid green dot indicates, hospital grade/earth/common ground........little green triangle indicates hospital grade Isolated ground. and orange indicates backup generator supported.

but there is ongoing discussions concerning the best method of creating an electrical contact......crimp vs. solder. I am on the fence. We use both in aircraft. I would surmise that a proper solder would better a proper crimp based solely on my belief that a crimp could allow for more invasive corrosion and less contact area due to unequal expansion and contraction but WTF do I know?

I dont think I can believe there is any logical or even reasonable argument that a crimp connection would be better than a solder connection in any situation, but like you WTF do I know.....................I can say crimp connectors were a big no no on my last job with the railroad working as an electrician

Ok, I will be the scapegoat here.

I have bought upgraded outlets and heard an improvement.

I have bought a power regenerator and heard an improvement.

I have used various footers and isolation devices and heard an improvement.

I have heard and can appreciate the differences in cables.

So there you have it. I will be your huckleberry........ :D
