It sits about 60ft of zig zag(and three walls) away from my wireless router. Edited August 23, 2014 by willland
TasDom
I've used them for years. Router downstairs to bedroom PC upstairs. Works great!
willland
I've used them for years. Router downstairs to bedroom PC upstairs. Works great! That's what I want to here. Does one unit come for the price or is it a box of two? Bill
TasDom
I bought from BB (Netgear) and it came as a unit. 1 transmitter and 1 receiver.
TasDom
As a side note, it did not introduce any interference into my A/V equipment. Was worried about that but nada.......
Moderators dtel Posted August 23, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 23, 2014 That's cool, I wish it would put out a wireless signal from the other end also for things that don't have a wired connection.

willland
How about these for $24.99? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3703185&CatId=
Marvel
While I'm not a super fan of Apple products, I have two Airport Extremes in my house, one at each end, ties together with some CAT5. THe one in the TV room is connected to the cable modem. I have great coverage throughout the house. Most stuff connects to the wired ports, but we can use tablets and phones on the wireless with no problems. EDIT: I'd get the NetGear before I would spring for the TRENDNet. jimjimbo
They work pretty well, however, you cannot plug them into an extension cord or anything other than directly into the outlet.....keep that in mind.
Gilbert
Bought a similar signal booster 2 years ago at Best Buy for use at my parents home. It doesn't work as well as advertised. I do like the NETGEAR brand, but have no experience with that unit you showed.
willland
I ended up getting two kits(4 units) of these and what a performance difference vs wireless. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8008752 Virtually no dropouts when streaming Pandora/music files with my Integra DTM-40.4 receiver in my bedroom. I haven't hooked up my SMART TV to a powerline yet but hope to experience the same or similar performance with streaming video and music. Where we noticed the greatest performance gains was with my wife's laptop when she switched from wireless to the powerline adapter. The download speed increased from about 4.8 Mbps(wireless) to 10.9 Mbps(powerline). I figured for $24.99 per kit I could not lose. So far so good.
