finallygotmyheresies
Just curious of what people's opinions would be on this. I've had 1 RSW-12 in my system but I haven't heard a dual RSW-12 setup or even a single RSW-15. Youthman have you done this comparison? There are a pair of RSW-12's available locally and he already dropped his price on the pair from $1,500 to $1,000. Maybe he'd take $800. p.s. The RSW-12 is the best sub I've owned to date and it worked really good in my old house. willland
I don't think you can go wrong with dual RSW-12's, especially for music. As a matter fact, twin 12's may just be better for music. Sharpen your negotiating skills and give it a go. Bill
CECAA850
Yes, will it be mainly used for music or movies?
finallygotmyheresies
I would say 75% music 25% movies. Positioning may become a issue. I had a clear vision of how I was going to set my place up but opportunities to pick up gear like this really cloud that vision quickly. CECAA850
They'd be great I'd imagine then.
finallygotmyheresies
I need to mention that the reason I made this comparison is that it seems like their values are fairly close give or take a few bucks.
JJkizak
My (one) RSW-12 is vibrating the stairway so much I have to add another brace. If I added another I would have to build a concrete bunker with 5 foot thick walls. JJK
artto
Go for it. More subs placed in multiple locations will provide smoother overall response at lower distortion with each working less hard. You may find that you don't have to turn the sub(s) up as loud.
jjptkd
I've had a single 12 next to a single 15 before and I thought the 12 did very good and sounded very close to the 15, just not as loud or as forceful. If you have the space for dual 12's I'd say that they would probably edge out a single 15. All the RSW's are very musical subs, best I've heard for just music in fact. In the right room they can work for theater too, good luck!
japosey
Two 12's will have more output than one 15. The 15 may be able to play slightly lower, but I would go with two 12's.
finallygotmyheresies
I've decided to pass on them for now. The seller agreed to sell them to me for $800 plus some Blu ray concert DVDs I had but im gonna hold off in case I have some unexpected expenses with my home purchase. If he's got them 2 weeks from now then I may reconsider. Thanks for the input people
AUDIOPHILENH
I have owned dual RSW-12's and dual RSW-15's and have compared them in various configurations. Nearly all rooms will have different bass results.A pair of dula RSW-12's for $800 is a fantastic deal if they are in good condition and I would buy them myself if he would ship them.Dual RSW-12's would be Excellent for music and still very good for HT.I like most would take the dual RSW-12's over a single RSW-15 to help out with room nulls etc.The dual 12's will play fairly loud in room and provide reasonable output.
