Stanislav Andreev
Hi everybody! Is there a difference in sound between cornwall 1, 2, 3? What's better to buy? And last question: Is Cornwall good for large room? ( 55 square meters) Отправлено с моего iPad используя Tapatalk
DizRotus
Welcome. Yes, but differences do not equate, necessarily, to better or worse. The best for you is the best value available. For most people, a used 1 or 2 is a better value than a newer 3. The older versions will need refreshment of the crossovers. Quality replacement diaphragms for the K77/ EV-T35 tweeters in the older models are getting harder to locate. Yes, any Cornwall will fill a large room with excellent sound. Best wishes with your search. Edited April 12, 2015 by DizRotus
Stanislav Andreev
Thank you very much for your detailed answer! Tell me, how they reproduce classical music and big bands ? Or this speaker system for rock only? Отправлено с моего iPhone используя Tapatalk
Ceptorman
The clarity in the Cornwall speaker would be excellent for classical or big band music, they sound good even for movies. Welcome...
TJIann
I have a pair of C2s from 1986. They sounded really good when I got them (and I listen to rock, jazz, classical, etc.), but even better when I got rid of the original crossovers and installed Crites rebuilt crossovers, and installed titanium diaphragms in the tweeters. The original crossovers in the C2s (Chinese made) left a lot to be desired in terms of build quality. Klipsch really cut corners on them. prerich
Someone help me out here if I'm wrong, but no Heritage product was ever made in China. They have always been made in Hope, Arkansas even until this day.

They have always been made in Hope, Arkansas even until this day. While the Heritage cabinets are made in Hope, the components can be from anywhere. For example, when EV ceased production of the T35/K77s, it's my understanding that Klipsch acquired the tooling from EV and had K77s made in the Philippines.Regarding K77s, it's also my understanding that there can be considerable variation from one to another. It's been reported that Klipsch was very picky and would return a significant amount to EV as rejects. To avoid that mismatch issue, as well as the difficulty going forward regarding suitable diaphragms, I would replace any failed, or suspect, K77 with a Pair of Crites CT125s, or something even more exotic (expensive). Deang
Crossovers are sourced out, and the drivers come from various vendors as well. Parts are tested and then installed into cabinets built in Hope.

If you want a better option buy a set of Chorus 2 they have better woofers and they have a much better mid horn design a hybrid conical/tractrix new design which is the best of the bunch you can also use all ti horn diaphragms.
djk
"The original crossovers in the C2s (Chinese made) left" Look at the parts, the all say KSC on them (even the speaker wire). At that time KSC was made in Mexico.

At that time KSC was made in Mexico. Bob Crites told me the ones I had were made in China. Really doesn't much matter whether it was China or Mexico. The fact is that they were poorly/cheaply designed and made (an obvious cost-cutting measure) compared to the C1 crossovers. The new ones I bought from Bob and installed are much better made,

Marvel
Welcome Andreev, Are you located within Russia? A lot of the advice will be difficult to get done as it can be hard to acquire parts from here to be shipped overseas. It can be done, but some countries are a bit more difficult than others.
