jwc
I had two of these and sold the other one on the Gon. However, this one is the "Super Merlin". I could be wrong but I think there may have been a beefed up power supply and Auricaps. 6H30 tube. Great condition and sounds great. I've had forum members over more than once that have heard this. Sadly another item that must go... $625 shipped insured.

NOSValves
Best sounding preamp Mark ever made especially after I designed my version of the super Merlin. Mark got the idea from me... I added a choke to the power supply, added about 600uF of filtering to the weak power supply and larger output caps of better quality usually Auricaps. 6H30 was optional if a customer had choice quiet 6DJ8's no sense in not using them they sound every bit as good. But quiet ones are hard to come by. 6H30's are always quiet and sound great! I'm not sure what all Mark did to them.

NOSValves
The word is out in those. They are a bit ugly but the sound is to die for. This is what the NBS sprang to life out of...
tk49
Ugly can be fixed, cosmetics are secondary to sound. That was a great price for a great preamp. t

Marvel
They are a bit ugly I don't know why you think this is ugly... Simple and not flashy maybe. Mine just sits there doing what a Merlin does so well. JC, you needing to clear out more stuff? You aren't moving again are you?
