YK Thom
Have been considering the advantages of ripping my CDs. Ideally I’d like to look into a component that rips, stores and plays. I see Naim has the Uniti rigs although they are far more expensive than I like. Anyone using something along these lines that won’t break the bank. dtr20
http://www.bluesound.com/en-us/products/vault-2/ I just picked up the Bluesound Node 2 DAC/streaming player. I like it, it works great for streaming media like Tidal. You just use your smart phone or tablet to control it.
YK Thom
Wow, that is nice. Two terabytes and flack to boot. Getting closer to my price range. I plan to get something like this perhaps early next year.

Wirrunna
tigerwoodKhorns, an old HP server should work. Here is the wiki for the DIY http://wiki.vortexbox.org/ I have built VortexBoxes (VB) on old computers but they were noisy, these days I use a mini ITX motherboard, cheap SSD and an 8TB HDD with a PicoPSU. For players I now use RaspberryPi https://sites.google.com/site/picoreplayer/home The VB runs Logitech Media Server for music and PLEX for video.

YK Thom
The small Green computer option looks promising and is priced much closer to what I was hoping to spend. I’m going to look a little deeper into these.
