I see your point. And agree.... I don't know the best way to describe it. The message it self I don't really focus on. Just like with movies its entreatment. I know the message is serious to Waters and to some bands like a death metal band singing of killing and other terrible things (cannibal corpse as example) it isn't. Its the emotion that his pain, and aggression creates. Like a Keith Whitley in don't close your eyes does (not much into country but a few songs I like). A few songs have small moments that are good. But Pink Floyd themselves are quoted many times saying that "DSOTM was the first album that we all looked at each other and knew we finally made something good".
