Oh man, that '70's vintage gear is just too much! It reminds me of my first all Technics system (25 WPC receiver with walnut cabinet, a 2-head cassette deck, and a belt drive 'table with an audio-technica cartridge).

My dad had the very same 7" reel-to-reel (RT 707)...truely a wonderful deck. He made many live recordings using that deck and two Shure microphones. After 25 years, it finally gave up the ghost...wish I had it now. Wonder how hard it is to get replacement belts, pullies, and other transport mechanism parts for it today.

I always wanted to put together a pioneer "RACK" with the spec amps, and the RT-909 open reel machine..I already have the RG-2 Dynamic range expander..had at one time the SG 9500 eq...rite down to the PL-12 turntable..(I know its a small one ...but it was a nice one) All the components are available on ebay..I go check them out from time to time just to drool a little........gc

Want to know the EASIEST way to improve your SUN 2A3? Ditch those Russian 6SN7. You will actually fall over backwards at the improvement between the Russuan 6SN7s and some GOOD NOS options from the likes of Sylvania, RCA, Brimar, etc.

The difference will not be subtle.
