I don't mind. I would never expect my good friend John, who owns a mercedes M class, to limit his driving because I only own a Ford Escort station wagon. I like seeing the goodies that people have. I like it when John lets me drive his car. huge sigs, no sigs, quotes from the left, quotes from the right, links to wherever, it's all good. There is trust between those that know each other or have emailed, but there could always be that crackpot... that comes in with the intent on doing the damage. Mallette
Hadn't been back here for a while, but I'm bored and waiting on Windows again. My hesitance in following links had nothing to do with fear. Has to do with time. If someone said "something really cool over at 16th and Sewer..." I am unlikely to trot over there without knowing whether it's a block of ice or free records. OK, so a link don't take long. Most of the time I don't HAVE LONG. I just don't think it too much to ask for a few words about what's over there. However, I am not oberlistfuehrer, nor do I wish to be. mobile homeless
Interesting. I was wondering how many times in this forum have you seen links with absolutely no reference to the subject? Actually, I dont remember hardly ANY that fall under this category. Is this something you find happens often? It havent followed nor seen a blind link to my knowledge. kh

Mallette
Yeah, seems to happen quite often. Maybe the same person or two, but since I don't pay any attention to who if I don't know what, I can't tell you. Dave
dodger
---------------- On 9/11/2003 4:53:22 PM Guy Landau wrote: Museums indeed . ---------------- Hello: We go from listing equipment on the Forum, to the time it takes to scroll through a post with long listings, to listing it on another page with a link, that may not be known to all newcomers to two (2) hours in a museum. I do not cricize the link. It must ruly be fascinating. But the TOPIC is long signatures, the amount of time it takes to scroll through them. And with going to another site to find out what person owns and rotates in and out. Kelly, I NEVER said you would send someone down a blind lead, quite the ooposite. I stated that I would feel comfortable going to a link you posted. I stated it would only take one to post a link that gets diverted, which happens frequently on the Internet. I spoke from experience, taking the time to find recommendations, coming from Klipsch, to security Personnel at Yahoo, PayPal, The International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners, the National Institute of Justice, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, adding The New York State Crime Prevention Coalition, NCPC, The National Sherriff's Association and The International (and New York State) Association of chiefs of Police and the Crime Prevention Institute in Louisville Kentucky. I also stated that for the Forum Members I have met or emailed with, I would not have trouble with going to links. A good number of people have complained to ISP's about clicking on a link then being diverted to another site. You were praised about the trust.
