Cal Blacksmith
Everyone knows that wire is wire, What is the big deal? EDIT: I could stop at RAT shack and pick up some interconnects at $1.99 each, how many would we need? I will toss in a few splitters at $.99 just for good measure, that 22 gauge wire is just fine for runs under 50 feet!
nicholtl
So is everyone showing up around 1-ish?

nicholtl
I fail to see the humor in that? What's wrong with cables and a switchbox?
Klipschfoot
Is there an audible difference between switchboxes?
Deang
I don't know, we would have to test several switchboxes using a switchbox.
nicholtl
Hear that? It's the sound of me being baffled.
AndyKubicki
Wow! My head is spinning already, and we haven't even started yet! I am looking forward to meeting you all and to the sounds we will be treated to. It should be interesting. Don't worry about the interconnects...I've got plenty of zip chords to go around... nicholtl
So I'll just leave the "$1000 worth in cables" at home? I guess that makes sense, cause if we're auditioning different sources, we DO wanna keep the interconnects the same, yes?
Cal Blacksmith
Nick, don't worry about it, Dean is just a little above the rest of us with his sub zero treated micro silver strand tripple coated teflon nitrogen injected dialetric $1000 per inch cables and thinks that by adding a switch between anything you will destroy any and all quality sound thus rendering the sound system no better than a pair of Blose cubes and a RCA transistor radio. Deang
Would you believe I use Monster's entry level video coaxial cables in my system? The pricey Monster Z1's and Cardas 300B's are piled up in my junk room somewhere.
Piranha
Send them to me. Why let them go to waste?
AndyKubicki
Yes Nick, 1-ish. Just rented Yes-Acoustic DVD. Man, those guys can play! I will have to get that one! The neighbors did not complain, (though I live in a townhome, we are only connected at the garage) so I'm sure we'll be OK for more volume Sunday. I had it up quite loud last night Did everyone get my addy and phone #?

Perhaps I should have used the in place of Use what ever cables you want to, I don't care. I do beleave that once a certan level of quality is reached, wire is wire. I am sure that the entry level Monster cables are as good as any other cable in it's price range and that you need to add 000s to the price to see any POSSIBLE increase in quality. I am also sure that a switch will add minimal loss or noise to the circuit. Oh well, my $
anarchist
I agree with CB; provided the switchbox housing is made of space age polymers, utilizes solid gold rca connectors and switch contacts, and is wired straight through with pure silver wire cured in a vate of liguid nitrogen. I do have issues with the disimiliar metal connections but that can't be avoided.
Deang
Yes, yes, I knew you were ribbing me. No one asked why, but I'll tell you anyways: They use a solid core conductor, and cost about $100 less than Audioquest.
Deang
So who's going to give us the play by play while all this happening over there?
