CTP, you wrote, ........................"

not know me, so do not make assumptions about my maturity level".

Over the last 6 months you have been on this board, you have posted

quite frequently, we have come to know the image you want to show to

the world and the image of a 15 year old, trying to fit in. The

advantage we have over you is that while all of us have been 15, you

have never been any older than what you are right now. Your world view

is limited by your experiences, as all of ours has been. The difference

is that we have had many more experiences than you and thus we DO know

more than you do!

The arrogance you have shown on this thread has firmly placed you in my

"don't bother helping" list. You could have come over and heard the

difference between Fort'e 1s and Cornwall 2s on tube and on SS but you

blew it. Life will go on without you and whether you stay or go, makes

no difference to me. You are just static in the background, there, but

to be ignored.

BTW, I hope you find that seat pinning acceleration in your vet that you are looking for.

I would buy the best heritage you can lay your hands on and I do not

think you would dislike the bass of La Scala's. I have Belle's and

recently added a sub on most recordings it barely kicks in but the

other night we listened to the fifth element sound track and parts of

it really dug down deep. Many clubs/dj's use La Scalas and I do not

think they would choose a speaker that lacks bass. Go for broke man!

Your young buy big while you have a $$$ low overhead. Whatch your

local papers for a good deal on used Heritage or get the new Heresy

either way you win.

good luck

Well I don't know what this young man did to incur such wrath and such a condescending tone from the members here.

Seems to me that he has a sum of money to spend and is looking at a variety of options - nothing wrong with that IMHO.

That aside - yes it is difficult to advise when the range is so broad - so? Should he keep to a narrow field so that we can advise more easily? I dont get it.

Anyway - back to the topic at hand. The only solution here is to take your time and go out there to listen to as many systems as you can get you hands and ears on.

As is the nature of these things everyone tends to advise on the basis of what they themselves either have right now or have chosen in the past. With that in mind I can tell you I was deliriously happy with the Heresy 2 / REL Strata 3 combo with the speakers being driven by 45 watt tube amps. The Heresy has the high and mid-range goods of it bigger brothers whilst the REL seamlessly takes its bass extension down to 20 Hz. The separate volume control on the REL (along with myriad other controls) allows you to decide how dominant you want that bass to be.

My guideline was to not know it was playing at all with music (until you turned it off where its absense became VERY obvious) but to pump it up a bit for movies. In my setting the best roll-off point for the REL was at 42 Hz.

Hope that helps

there is one nice advantage to heritage that i didn't see mentioned,

you can always get your money back with re-sale if you don't like what

you buy...

now if you buy New rf7's you might have some trouble selling them at the price you paid if you sell quickly???

i really like my forte's and they are in a 14x16 room, not much bigger

than yours, they are a good place to start i think. big full horn sound

in a smallish cabinet at a good price.

good listening to you

Max, you asked what he did THIS TIME?

How about a snot nosed 15 year old talking to you in person like this????

Talk about ignorance, he can't even use the spell check that is provided by the BB!

Triode I don't think I like your tone.

RF-7's have such a low impedence curve that most tubes amp have real

problems driving the load of the woofers. I know the heritage will have

no problem with tubes, in fact they usally sound better with them.

*rant*And when I'm all grown up, I should suriously kick your A**, I

don't think one single post has pissed me off more than this one. I

most likly know more about audio than you and your just repeting

everything you hear. So go be a troll elsewhere or learn what your

talking about!!!*end rant*

Does anyone know the impedence curves for cf-3's?

Right on CBS. I found the post quite disturbing as well and thought Triode did marvelously in response.

That said, Heresy should be this young lads purchase despite his

ignorance regarding their bass - which surprisingly one may believe if

they read it often enough.

As an additional benefit, he would be able to squeeze them into the

back of the Corvette rather than buy a "boom box" from Best Buy.

He could then be pinned into his seat and blown away simultaneously.

The big problem with a RF-7 resale is shipping. I would buy them anyway instead of waddling into Heritage Hell.

Heritage Hell !!! Why , I oughta ... , let you build another network for the single Belle I will be picking up Sunday ! [:D] I belive it was Bon Scott who once said , " Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be " . Works for me anyway . [6] No need to guess what I will be using as a combination Center Channel / TV Stand soon . I am soooooo Stoked !!! Uh , what was this thread about ? [8-)]

Wow, haha, how blown out of proportion is this, I was pissed yesturday thus my post to triode. In response to the Corvette forums post, my father has agreed to buy myself a corvette, and since I have nothing better to do, I post hypothetical questions that I can put to use when we finaly to go out and purchase a corvette. But never the less my real goal her was just to get some sugestions beyond what I have already recived.

And after review, I think I am going to do for some chours II's, true they may be alittle large for my current room, but I will not be staying in my room forever. So thats to the ones who helps, dr. who in praticular.

LOL, you can relax Willy, it was just my way of saying that the RF-7 is for the most part a plug and play solution, and used Heritage is not. One needs to immediately address the networks, and anything less than very good to excellent gear will amount to nothing less than grief. I don't think they are very forgiving.

As for CTP's attitude...I totally agree with Triode. She has not

been a troll in anyway at all. By CTP's posts, I don't need to

personally know you or talk to you to see your attitude and take a stab

at your maturity level. However, you are just 15, and no one is

perfect at 15. Just don't be confrontational and

judgemental. As someone else already said, your elders have had a

lot more experience and so know a lot more than you. If for no

other reason, that's a good enough reason for you to show them respect,

whether you agree with them or not.

Now, back to speaker suggestions. I would personally look at

something from Energy. I've always liked their speakers. I

know someone who has a pair of the Energy Connoisseur C-9 and is using

a tube amp to power them and is very happy with the results. 3 -

6.5" woofers, 94 db efficiency, +/-3db frequency response of 31Hz to

23kHz. I would personally love to own a pair of these one day.

Good luck with finding some speakers you enjoy listening to.

Just curious, what other klipsch models have you listened to? I am

curious as to what you're comparing to because I don't think I'd ever

recommend the Energy (even at that price point).

Btw, each speaker is 91dB sensitive...a pair is 94dB.
