SilverSport
Actually I believe Klipsch (the company) call it that because WE call it that...I meant when these speakers were out, (according to my "owner's manual") they were not called Heritage by Klipsch (PWK or the Company)...they just were...KLIPSCH...TKDAmerica ... I got no beef with you... [*-)] Bill
Zen Traveler
Hey Silversport--I didn't mean anything more than making the observation that present day Klipsch refers to those speakers as the Heritage line (the word never is sort of absolute). PhilMays
Sound of needle being drug across record My rug just got snatched out from under me. Wife just accepted the position of Chief of Anesthesia at Duke Hospital In Durham, NC (30 minutes ago). We will sell our house within the next six months and have to move. The only reason I have this room that we are converting now is that our home is 6,100 sq ft. I doubt I'll have this room again.[:'(] Son of a........ I'm still going to move forward, if I have to put this in a dingy, dank closet[H]
DrWho
Sounds like you just need to make sure the next home has an extra room that you can dedicate to speakers [] Or at the very least a basement for you to play in.
PhilMays
Yea, honestly the accoustic where we are at now suck. We were talking that we could buy a house and actually build an addition in time. By doing so we could sound proof, wire and all the other good stuff going in. Anyway, I think I'll give the Cornwalls a shot! Thanks for everyones help!

PhilMays
Thanks guys....Life sure is funny. One day your walking one path and the next day you change direction. We went out to several parties tonight and had a very nice dinner where I had a few, well more than a few nice single malt scotch's. Came home and sat on the patio and enjoyed a nice cigar (cheap cigar but damn it was tasted good). Yep, It's all good....gotta have your priorities! 3dzapper
Major congrats for your wife Phil !!!! I'm sure she has worked long and hard to deserve such a lofty position. She has my respect and admiration. As for you, you lucky dog. You are going to be able to "house hunt" for the perfect room. [] Rick

fletcherkane
I think I would rate the KG line at the bottom of the totem pole. I'll just list out my preferences in order from the top to the bottom Lascala 2 + Stereo Subwoofage Cornwall 3 / Chorus II Forte 2 THX Ultra2 System KHorn Heresy 3 Reference Synergy Heresy 3 Lascala 2 (by itself) Promedia KG lineup KSB I think I got that in the right order. The only speakers I don't have much time with are the Tangents and KLF series. I would expect the Tangents to be down with the KG series and the KLF to be on par with the Reference stuff....though, it might even get up there with the Cornwall and Chorus II because it's a 3-way. It gets a bit more complicated when you include subwoofers into the mix. For example, the lascala sucks on its own, but with a sub it's top of the charts... Granted, this is all my opinion and everyone feels differently about everything but it gives you an idea of where I'm coming from. Wow, Dr who, I know I am coming to this thread a little late, but putting the KG line after the promedias is pretty harsh. Have you heard any of the full range KGS--4.2's or 5.5s? I'll stack my KGS up against anyone with promedia.... But to each his own...
DrWho
I've only heard the KG-4 and a few of the smaller models...very muchnot a fan. I figured the whole series was similar, though I know thereare quite a few more speakers. I'll rewrite that to be a bit morespecific...Did anyone notice I listed the Heresy 3 twice? [:$] As far asthe promedias, I think many would be surprised just what these bad boyscan do in smaller, nearfield envrionments at normal listening levels.I've had a promedia setup side by side with my Chorus II's and I wouldargue that it was 90% the same sound. You lose a bit in the lower midswith such a high crossover to the sub, but with careful placement itisn't too localizeable. You still get them crisp mids, extended highs(which is where most music resides) and then enough bass to shake thefloor (not exactly the cleanest though so different types of musicresponse better to it). Take the promedias out of the nearfieldenvironment and it's nowhere close (but that's kinda silly since theywere designed for the nearfield). Then I compare that to the KG-4's which I find to be lacking inthe HF department and not too clean on the mids. They remind me ofinexpensive Crate PA speakers. That said, I know many compare the KG4favorably to the Heresy...I can't fathom the comparison, so maybe itjust depends on the music? (or my young ears that can still hear above20kHz?) I dunno, maybe just the few pairs I've heard were in crappyshape.
