jtnfoley
This daily web cartoon is by and for the pro IT community. It details the lives of pro IT geeks at an obviously fictitious Internet Service Provider. Lemme set the stage... the seated character is a tech support specialist often barraged by silly non-technical types, both when answering customer support calls and by the idiot director of marketing (standing.) --Edit: Day 2: --Edit: Day 3:Figured out what I was doing wrong. --Edit: Day 4 http://www.userfriendly.org/

jtnfoley
Disclaimer: I AM a geek, and I DO play oneat work (but never on TV.) This comic is a serial and topics tend to runin spurts... we can expect three or four more days from its' author on this subject! []
Mallette
Keep'em coming. That one is already on my wall... BTW, I play one at work and on TV too. And I find that bits and bytes get there intact on clothesline, if the contacts are good enough. Dave

Colin
he is not an audiophile, I knew how much those cables were when he said they were "Ultra Double Plus Premiums!"
oldtimer
Being neither an audiophile (budget not serious enough) nor a computer geek (barely able to use the thing) I just thought I'd take advantage of a cheap opportunity to post. But as long as you guys think it's funny then hey, I agree, it must be.
Cut-Throat
Hilarious! - He will upgrade to the new model next year that costs $699! And he will definitely hear a difference!
seti
I've been reading User Friendly for many years. The cartoon with a hand on the pulse of the Tech Geek community. It is worth going back and reading some of the older ones. The Sunday full color comics are great as well. BRAVO User Friendly http://userfriendly.org/

Hifi jim
Okay, that last comic strip did it. I'm throwing my hat in the ring here. Whether cables make a positive difference in any system is up to the owner, and more importantly the ears of said owner to determine. However, all cables, components, speakers, etc. do have some burn in time. Directional arrows are usually there for the purpose of not having to re-burn in the interconnects or speaker cables again if they should be removed from the system. This is true of high end cables same as it is for the 20 gauge speaker wire I am currently using. Obviously I have no directional arrows on my zip cord, but I do tape the output side to keep things straight. I guess computer geeks don't know everything, but then I wouldn't know the first thing about debugging a Vista loaded PC.

[] First of all, you may or may not know that I NEVER question another persons hearing experience. Whatever you hear is real. But the science of what you are saying just sounds a bit strange. As to the VIsta loaded PC...stay away, far away. And I'll repeat what I said about digital signals. They'll go either way down a clothesline without a problem as long as it is insulated and well connected. Dave
