Computer geeks chime in on magic cables...

This daily web cartoon is by and for the pro IT community. It details the lives of pro IT geeks at an obviously fictitious Internet Service Provider.

Lemme set the stage... the seated character is a tech support specialist often barraged by silly non-technical types, both when answering customer support calls and by the idiot director of marketing (standing.)

Okay, that last comic strip did it. I'm throwing my hat in the ring here. Whether cables make a positive difference in any system is up to the owner, and more importantly the ears of said owner to determine. However, all cables, components, speakers, etc. do have some burn in time. Directional arrows are usually there for the purpose of not having to re-burn in the interconnects or speaker cables again if they should be removed from the system. This is true of high end cables same as it is for the 20 gauge speaker wire I am currently using. Obviously I have no directional arrows on my zip cord, but I do tape the output side to keep things straight. I guess computer geeks don't know everything, but then I wouldn't know the first thing about debugging a Vista loaded PC.

Woooo.... The first of those tapping fingers I heard out there to snap! [;)]

First of all, you may or may not know that I NEVER question another persons hearing experience. Whatever you hear is real. But the science of what you are saying just sounds a bit strange.

As to the VIsta loaded PC...stay away, far away. And I'll repeat what I said about digital signals. They'll go either way down a clothesline without a problem as long as it is insulated and well connected.
