  1. A lot of people who can afford exxpensive toys do so by having demanding careers. Monitoring things like tracking may not be a priority in the grand scheme of things.

  5. The Cornwall 3 is a great sounding all around speaker, i would buy them in a heartbeat. I think the Cornscala sounds somewhat a little bright for my tastes but still sounded good. Never heard them next to each other to A/B them with the same amp/room combo so take my findings with a grain of salt.

  6. No, but most people can't make payments that way. 8k is a decent chunk all at once, at least for me it would be. pssshhh.. mere details. Sorry I forgot who I was talking to for a moment.

  8. On page 20 of your Kenwood manual it speaks to the 2 front speakers about the stereo mode setup. Also page 24 may be relevant. Certainly I get decent sound out of my Yamaha AVR. Another thing to remember is that the KG-4's are 4 ohm, but certainly worth trying with the Kenwood. Manual: http://manual.kenwood.com/files/B60-5453-00.pdf

  9. Unless you can get it dialed in with the surround receiver , I would try it on practically any analog 2 channel receiver. I used a 50 watt SS(solid state and a 250 watt) and had smooth highs and plenty of bass. I would wait on any tube gear for now, unless you just want to spend the money. You got a nice set of speakers! Welcome!

  10. Ooops, I just realized you posted this in the HT forum. How about a preamp/amp combo with an HT bypass feature or an integrated amp with HT bypass if you are planning an HT/2-channel combo system. Bill

  11. You don't need more power to the Belles. You may want to upgrade, but it's not for need of more power. I'd use the Sony for HT and do the Belles justice with an integrated tube amp for 2 or 3 channel. Call Craig Otsby (NOS Valves). He can help you. SSH

  13. Yes, "Mods" or "modding" refers to updating the caps on the xovers, perhaps replaceing the original phenolic diaphragms with titanium in the squawker and tweeter. The Quartet is a very respectable speaker. I own forte II that I bought new in 1992, which is the bigger brother to the quartet. INMHO you would need to spend close to $3,000.00 on new speakers to do better than what you have. Are you sure you paid over a $1,000.00 new? I only paid $850.00 for my forte II in 1992 at a now defunct retailer by the name of United Audio. I have made all of the above modifications on my forte II and would never consider parting with. Best regards, John

  14. Or just bring the receiver into the room with the other khorns. You can rule out the receiver at least. Bring your wires. Hopefully it is a quick hook up.

  15. 1. There was no true follow up to Abbey Road. A new era was about to be opened up with that album. 2. The "live" albums that were released (Hollywood Bowl, etc...) that had the screaming girls going.... on and on and on. 3. They never would come stop by the house for some good Tex/Mex food when they were in the area.

  16. Here is an experiment. Assuming that you have a good receiver and source. Hook these up and listen to them, then go out and listen to what you can buy for around $400 new and see which direction you want to go. The matching center is called an Academy and is available used.

  19. Yes. Any other approach simply short changes the customer. Since we all hear differently and have different tastes, what is the point in handing everyone the same cookie jar?

  20. Gosh ! Finally somebody replied on this thread [] I was thinking such a vibrant Klipsch Forum and how is my post going un noticed. Anyways Alex, before you put the link I have already gone through this review about the G-17 on Engadget and yes I have read the review on quite a few Tech Sites. I was hoping a end user feedback review on this. Generally reviews from profesiional Tech sites, magazines tend to be biased if they have been having a association with the product company for long. Again I may be wrong. Ok so I do imagine that Klipsch G17 may have a powerful Bass because I personally also have high regard for the quality Klipsch produces. Have been long fan of the Klipsch Promedia GMX-2.1 (If I remember the model number correctly) Man !! That was one heck of a fantastic speakers, have never..ever...ever..come across anything as fantastic as that ! That was out of the world ! So listening to those speakers Klipsch made me look at them with extreme, extreme high regard. But Like I said I may use the G-17 speakers to watch mioves (even if they are not meant to be) But as you are saying from your own experience of watching a couple of movies, the experience is not bad either right ? (I hope I can take your word for that, [] keeping in mind you are a Klipsch Employee [] So watching movies should not be a problem right on the Klipsch G17 speakers ? Cheers ! Augustya !
