  1. I got 3 but forgot which one. Maybe the boxer, shopping,or I don't know. I am in need of help. Any women on the forum?
  2. Not really. The prog rock scene is not FM playable. With 20min songs it is just not welcome on the airwaves. Just look at Pink Floyd, when was the last time you heard DSOTM from the beginning? Same for the old Genesis. It is a shame that bands like this cannot get more airplay. I am sure that if the forum listeners got a chance to hear Liquid Tension Experiment they would change their minds! Glad to hear that you(Moon) appreciates quality music like this. These guys are amazing at what they do. I have seen Rush a dozen times and DT just surpasses what they do. Now don't get me wrong, Rush is one of my favorite bands but I have seen these guys four times and they keep getting better. Last time was about 2 months ago and Queensryche was the headliner. Both were great BUT, DT just had a better show. Can't wait till they come back to H-town, supposedly they will be by themselves and have a 3 hour show like when they did Scenes From A Memory. Enjoy!
  3. Nov.11,2003 Train of Thought, 7 songs. Also new DVD-A of Genesis-Foxtrot, The Lamb and others.
  4. I have an Onkyo TX-DS797B and through my Heresy's they sounded great. Integra is just an offshoot of Onkyo with probably some better components(maybe). It is more of a seperates based company. Sort of like Denon is an offshoot of Panasonic, JBL is part of the Harmon Group. You can also get an external amp and power your mains. I use a very old Grommes tube amp for the mains and it sounds great.
  5. I remember back in high school in 74 I read and article about car stereo in popular science that used the center dash speaker connected by both + leads from the left and right speakers to provide center ambience. Tried this on my 69 Bug with an underdash Pioneer Supertuner1 cassette deck and had pretty good results. Have not tried this with home equipment but may give it a try. I really miss that bug.
  6. Hope it goes back out to sea. As someone who has gone through 3 hurricanes buy your self a power generator. During Hurricane Alecia we were without power for 5 days and I was 90 miles from the coast. Galveston was without power from 7-10 days. And this was a category 3. When tropical depression Allison came through power was out for about 3 days in some parts of Houston all because of rain. Of course 24" of it tends to affect power when it is distributed underground. Bottled water, spam, propane, batteries are a few items you need.Good luck.
  7. Try using neverdull. The military uses this. It is in a can and is a fibrous type material and will get rid of rust and leave a coating on metal that will prevent further oxidation. I used it for my weights in calibration and these were brass.
  8. Daddy Dee where do you go trout fishing in Ark.? I come up twice a year to the North Fork in NW Ark. Usually around the middle of Oct. Everyone on this forum should go there and see what it is all about! Last spring the river was down and had a hard time navigating aroung the rocks. Caught a 4lb8oz bow and 3lb 6oz brown. As for the spending time with the significant other, make sure you do all you can do. I am going to a 4 yr. old birthday today. Clowns and fun. Of course I am just taking the brisket off the smoker so it is time to run. Take care of the ones you love.Shalome.
  9. Have you tried using an analog meter to see if the dielectric is shorted out. If the meter pegs out then it is shorted. Try the 10Kohm range. Caps do go bad. Is this a can type or film cap? Try that and let us know. By the way the cap will have to be out of circuit.
  10. As far as classical goes there are many to chose from. Russian Mussorgsky-Pictures at an Exhibition,Orchestra or Organ Mussorgsky-A Night on Bald Mountain Tchaichovsky-Romeo and Juliet,Scherazade,Peter and the Wolf Tchaichovsky-1812,Telarc has one that goes down to 8Hz when the cannons go off. There is a warning on this one. French Debussy-LeMer German Bach-Brandenburg Concerto Beethovan-Symphony 1-9 Handel-Messiah (4 discs) Mozart-Requiem These are just a smattering. I will look in the vault and see what comes up. By the way you can pick up a lot of classical for cheap at best buy. Telarc makes some fantastic CD's and will cost a little more as well as Sony. YO YO MA is a cellist that will display mucho imaging of Klipsch speakers. Look for him. Van Kliburn is a pianist that will image good too. Another one of my favorites is The Canadien Brass. As a trumpet player of 35 years this still gives me goose bumps. Enjoy!

  12. John Petrucci of Dream Theater? Larry Coryell of Elventh House? Morons!!
  13. Too bad they don't sell Copenhagen at McD's. And I'll have a large Diet coke with that. Been dipping since 76. One of the hazards being in the Aggie band cutting down trees for the bonfire. Just a right of passage I guess. Sort of hard to play trumpet and dip though. Would like to quit and have cut back, but it is like a dependancy that I wish would just go away. Figured out I could save $320 a year.Room treatments. $3200 in ten years, 5 Corns for HT. Think I'll quit.
  14. Yes-Live at the house of blues Lord of the Rings-TTT From Dusk To Dawn Steve Ray Vaughn-Live at El Mocambo Pink Floyd-The Wall
  15. I agree with you guys. A friend of mine i go fishing with coined a phrase that I thought was interesting. He called all of the mass that buys into the latest and greatest (sheeple). They tend to gravitate to the latest car, cell , so on and so on. What's wrong with 50 year old tech that sounds as good as the latest on the market? Just a slanted view. As I write this the latest dribble is on MTV, just turn it off Steve, wait what about the hotties? I would rather go fishing for trout on the White River in Ark. Enjoy.
  16. You can build a faraday shield inside of the cabinet. Get some copper mesh and attach it on all of the inside surfaces of the cabinet. This should eliminate the flux generated by the magnets.
  17. This is my left surround. The right one is the same way. Fairly easy to do, just get a stud finder and mount the stand. Up in the attic have someone tap on the stud and drill down which ever side you want to drop the cable and mount an electrical box next to the bracket. Put a string and a bolt or nut on the cable so when you open up the sheetrock it should pass straight down the wall. Have fun.
  18. Last before Sat. was Ricky Skaggs performing with the Boston Pops. He had his touring band and was accompanied? by them. Was an exhilerating experience. If you want to hear probably the best mandolin player and guitar picker next to Roy Clark. This was on Houston PBS broadcated in HDTV.
  19. Amy I can understand your problem. I work for a company that sells programmers that takes a file and puts it into a chip. We sold a POS that basically wrecked havoc on our company and we have just started to recover. If Klipsch continues on this path then they will start to see the attributes of this marketing strategy. I have owned K since 78 and have not been dissapointed. But looking at the emails recently, and I have been looking here as an observer for 5 years before actually submitting my e-mail. I think Klipsch is a great product but from what I can gather their quality has gone into the crapper. Sorry to drop a bombshell on you guys, but I first heard your speakers back in 70, they were LaScalas and was a treat to the ears. I have heard most of the lineup you have now and it is good, BUT, stick with what you know. Why else would ebay have all these choice K speaks at near affordable prices. K-Horns in my neighborhood for $1500. Stupid fool. Anyway on my rant, if you sell something to the public you better be able to back up your service. Something you do not get these days. Amy you should call Klipsch directly and ***** your heart out. Sorry guys but when you pay that much for a system you should have better performance. I am really not that bitter, my Heresy's have been performing well since 78, I can not complain. A friend has Cornwall's and another has Chorus. All the K that I have seen and heard are great speaks, just fix the problem. Late
  20. Poco-Cantamos SQ-4 Quad Version, silky smooth. Nektar Ricky Skaggs Triumvirat-Illusions on a Double Dimple Emmylou Harris-Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town MOFI
  21. One thing you can do is solder the wire directly to the speakers + and - connection, then shrink wrap the connection. Or just tin the wires before you connect them, this should take care of any moisture contamination.
  22. Try the Thorens route. I have a TD-145 Mk 2 from 1977 and with an Ortofon needle makes outstanding sound. Had to modify the electrics so it would fit in standard plugs in the US.
  23. Make sure your finger touches the platter when removing the disc. This should eliminate most of the static by creating a ground loop through your fingers to the carpet. You might add a ground wire from the turntable to the back of your reciever.
