  1. IMHO I wouldn't go there. I've messed with vintage arms and you need a lot of patience, knowledge and experience, I lack all. [:$] There are certainly great vintage arms around, but I would go for a SME. Different pricerange, but easier. I still have my 3012, but have a new 312 in my main rig now. One of the unipivots I did like was the VPI, but adjusting it with the cable? Not for me. I want to dial it down perfectly and not have to mess with it again for at least 6 months, preferably a year. New arms are cheaper now and easier and better to adjust. As I said, with my patience and capabilities. Greets, Tim.
  2. I am quite sure it's Chinese. Actually I could have sworn I saw the exact copies of the equipment under another name. I had the cd3 cd player in a sale and was pleased with the result for the money, but I sold it to buy a Creek (also at a major discount as they changed the running gear (I don't know the correct audio name for it)). I am impressed with that price-qualitty ratio. Whenever I hit the jackpot I want a Rega... []
  3. Cool system! I'd believe it if you were SETI with that. Nice tuner! [Y]
  4. He Michael. What's it been about. Well together we learn, experience, celebrate, grieve and whenever possible we help eachother out. Clichés I know. Basically, most of the time I like being here and I like the idea of being part of this. You being here is part of the experience, I can't imagine this without you. OTOH everybody needs a break once in a while. Take it easy Michael! Tim
  5. 42 [Y] And don't panic! ehmm. Wheré's my towel?
  6. Great how it's working out. You deserve a vacation indeed. Please keep sharing. Best wishes, Tim.
  7. http://www.accuradio.com/ And then mostly MyMVY
  8. Ah, is it election time again? Thought so, high strung times. It looks this is going to be the big shoot out. Wars have been fought over way less than a cart, most of the time actually. Hey, who is brave enough to save and defend Amy? The Thebes can't be so stupid as to attack the Flying Dutchman? Can he? Just to be sure, I am hiding in a bunker in Scheveningen that the germans left us a few years ago. I've got a box of raw herrings and empty beerbottles to defend myself. You will never get me or my Jan Allaerts cart![8o|]
  9. You triggered the same thoughts with me guys. I hope he's well. Had a great email conversation with him while the gang fixed me up with my MC-30's. My minds sucks though, how's that possible?
  10. Terribly late, but a virtual cake from Holland. [^]
  11. Quinnby is an interesting and beautiful name. If you google "Quinnby first name", this klipsch thread comes first, to be followed by geneologie of Quinnby as last name. Please enlighten us how the choice came about. Congrats!!! Tim
  12. Gefiliciteerd en een fijne verjaardag! Tim (I'm not swearing, it says congratulations and a happy birthday[])
  13. Great story! It's very reasssuring that these old beauties still find a good home and arer still being used. Tim.
  14. Have a great day Travis! Please say hello to Kelly. [^] The MX110 sends his greetings. [Y] Tim.
  15. Cool indeed! [H] Here's the club film: It was fun to watch again. Greetings and best wishes Max! Tim
  16. Ouch! I have not heard the JM/MC combo, but it must sound stellar. I have MC30's and MX110 pre, also a great combo. I think that a JM pre will be a bit faster and clearer. They are beautiful pieces of work. No contest , as the MX110 is forty years old and a great piece as well.
  17. Max, good to hear from you! I have a whole storage room full of old equipment that I found or got. I gave away many things, but I just seem to have that nose for old equipment. I guess that's part of the condition most of us have here; normal when compared to people listening to a half a million stereo set. [] The stories about old recordings reminded me of old reels I still have, with recordings of my father reading me stories. My father passed away 20 years ago, I am 40 years old. I haven't listened to these for 30 years! This will be my project for the coming week! I hope there's still something on them. I remember him recording at my bedside. Probably my voice is on there too! Thank you for bringing this up and triggering my memory. Tim.
  18. Carl, I'm glad to hear your daughter is doing well! All thebest!
