  1. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Patrick
  2. Paul has his moments. Generally he is well informed, witty and helpful . . . . but sometimes he tends to be condescending . . . or outright insulting. Most perplexing, and no doubt what gives rise to the strong viscereal reactions, is that on occasion it seems that he suddenly has an evil twin . . . . or else not enough medication, or perhaps a bit too much alcohol. It is those times where he seems a bit acerbic in his baiting. I do not know Paul on an individual basis, but I suspect he, like the rest of us, has his good days and his not-so-good days. We all seem to react differently to stress, and we all seek different outlets for that stress and our related frustrations. The keyboard is merely a tool, and how we use it determines the end product. I do not know why this thread was started, but hopefully it was not done maliciously;None of us deserve that. Paul, Merry Christmas.
  3. Dr Gary, CONGRATS buddy! This is excellent news . . . . . perhaps you should celebrate by buying some new gear . . . . . all the best, Patrick
  4. Hey dtel family; Congrats to you all! Education is always a worthy pursuit, and ignorance should simply be ignored. . . . . . . . ah, but I can't resist . . . . . . Hey kbear, having just read some of your posts, it seems you might benefit from some education; in particular, classes in spelling, punctuation, and common usage of the language appear to have been absent from your formal education. You might also want to read some of the writings of Emily Post.
  5. Tom, any chance she has a single sister? We need to get our good buddy Mikey (colterphoto) hooked with a gem like your wife. All the better if she has a collection of amps to power his collection of speakers.
  6. Damn, you must be very, very good in bed! You da man! Hey, any chance your wife could train our wives on how to Christmas (and birthday) shop for all the rest of us poor slobs out here?
  7. Marty, I'm hoping that would include a visit from the twins to help me, . . . er, well, yeah, ahhhh, . . . well help me wrap it up, yeah that's it , to help me wrap it! I am sending you a pm. thanks, patrick
  8. Hey, so that was you (and not Santa's elves) peeking through my windows on all those past Christmas's! Been there, done that! My problem was getting the coaster brake to work correctly after putting on the training wheels .. . . Ideally I was thinking $300 ish, maybe a used MMF, Denon, etc . . . .. . she is the second of 5, and I can't show favoritism, so whatever additional I spend on her I also have to spend on the other 4 . . . . . although she is the only one that thinks my "nutty" hobby is cool, and she did buy me some new vinyl, . . .. and maybe the others won't notice . . .. . not a chance .. .
  9. bumpity bump . . . . . good thing I am not the sensitive type, 'cause otherwise I'd be thinking y'all be ignoring me . . . . . . or, as goodguy mikecolterphoto would say, I am not feeling the love . . . . . by the same token, i am following the other thread on TT's under $500.00 and enjoying it . . . .
  10. sputs, you gets the prize! them thar are some good looking hounds.
  11. Hello all, I recently purchased a VPI Scout which I think Santa will bring to me for Christmas. My 2nd daughter has first dibs on all my duplicate vinyl, but has no TT. This morning she mentioned a used TT as a possible Christmas present if I was still short of ideas (subtle hint, eh?). Her system is modest, as of yet, consisting of a Pioneer SX 780 and KG 4's (but she may just end up with the Heresy's currently in my office) and close to 100 lp's from me. So my querry is: are any of you getting a new TT for Christmas and, if so, do you want to sell your otherwise good condition TT? . . . . . or do you have a 2nd TT in good condition with which you want to part?? If so, please pm or email me. Thanks, Patrick
  12. . . . . and the dukester got the last one . . . congrats, you dawg you (just joshing ya)
  13. toddvj, i think that may be it, but i seem to recall it was a guy singing and the devil was female (gosh, is that redundant? just kidding ladies). next dumb question: is there a website where lyrics are posted or do you just google them?
  14. Hey Rev, no answer here . . . . .but I have a similar thing with a country-western/rock crossover type song. The lyrics had a phrase along the lines of " . . . no one told me the devil wore blue jeans . . " or maybe "pearls and blue jeans" . . . or "high heels and blue jeans" any help appreciated
  15. . . . . from one turkey to all you other turkeys: have a good day, enjoy family and remember in your prayers of thanksgiving the families of the soldiers that have given their lives so that we can celebrate these holidays. My personal thanks to all of you for tolerating me, helping me and giving guidance. Alot of lot love to those special ones out there such as Mrs. Marvel, Daddydee and the other forum family members who are facing challenges.
  16. What???????????? has everyone forgotten about Tiny Tim?? I think he even made it to the Ed Sullivan show. And before TT, weren't they rockin' out with Lawrence Welk?? And what about that group that had their own TV show and sang M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E . . . . . . . ..
  17. Bruce, I don't know what to say . . . .other than that: we are here, we are a family of souls united, please rant, vent and cry with us. We can (and will) all pray, but I sense you have that covered very well. Our empathetic hearts are with you and Barb, but obviously we are helpless when it comes down to the short strokes. I can't make sense out of it; I can only hope it is all revealed to us one day. We are here for you, and hopefully that gives you some reassurance that the sun will come up tomorrow and the next day, and the next . . . . . . Hold her and love her, as she loves you. God bless your family. Amen
  18. I think Willy heard Gabriel and the other archangels blowing their horns, calling him home . . . . for me, that's close enough to audio to qualify.
  19. Craig, put me in for $10.00 and I wiil drop a tenspot in the mail to your Judd rd. address on your website. Patrick
  20. Ditto everyone else's thoughts and feelings. I never had the pleasure of meeting him face-to-face, but like many of you, I certainly got the clear message that he was a very good human being, and was always most respectful of all the rest of us. Truly a forum family member we will miss, and remember fondly. Mrs. Marshall, you and yours are in our thoughts and prayers. Patrick
  21. Hey Rev, sorry to hear the news, but I am sure your inner goodness and His grace will pull you through. My prayers are for you and those close to you. Peace to you, brother to all of us, Patrick
  22. well, yeah, I got a secret method to remove them . . . .. just ship them out to me and I will do it for you. Oh yeah, you should probably get shipping insurance . . .. . .. .[][]
  23. Michael, dude, glad to be wishing you the bestest of Bdays buddy! Enjoy, and remember, it's better than the alternative. We all wanted to send you some speakers, but ya ain't got no more room . . . . Hang in there Michael, and remember, all of us out here appreciate you!!!!!!!!!!! Patrick
  24. Darn Steve L, how do i play all that music during my 30 seconds of passion? . . . . . . . . . oh, it's supposed to take longer ?????????????????? now they tell me, i thought it was a race . . . . .. just kidding guys, c'mon lighten up!!!
