I always get so excited when I see pictures from the DIY threads... because I have near zero skill sets to do this myself. one question though, as a former silk screener... wont the tension on the grill frame be significant if you over stretch/tension the fabric causing some warp?

I dont know about the 72 but my SC35 doesn't have a pass feature. I just dont turn on my receiver and the sound automatically plays through the monitor speakers. and you're right... it takes a while to toy around with the amp to get all the setting worked to where you like them, only to have to do it again when the amp starts to break in a little. oh and congrates on the superb AVR, you're going to be very happy.

I am not familiar with HK model you have... but the emotiva is a great amp. are you sure your model has pre outs? the head room the emotiva has would show itself in the peak periods of amplification.

I am having an urge to look at Bel Canto monoblocks... does anyone have any first hand experience with them? I take it they are another version of the B&O ice based amp???

I am wanting a bit more from my system in as far as separation, clarity and power... I am looking at used solid state units fro now and have considered brystons, but I think the reviews of them not being musical might be well founded. I am also searching for a parasound or levinson... does anyone have any recommendations? Coming from a wonderful SC35 Pioneer that I will probably not sell(use for home theater) . trying to stay in the 1500$ range... might be able to stretch it a little. there is a parasound A21 on ebay I am looking at.

TY... agree and have heard that alcohol is NOT for shellac... but not all of these are made from shellac am I correct in assuming that? so then, how do you tell? is it just better to be safe and use on a mild mixture of soap and water?

I am still trying to get into 78playback... I have several hundred 78's(and cylinders) from different eras that came from my father that came from his father. I have been unable to play them because I can not commit to a second turntable. but I am close. My uncle just past away a month ago and he had an unused 78 console( probably 70 era) with tube amp... I am getting that but I will have to have it completely rebuilt or at least looked at. personally I was trying to buy an empire or lenco as a second TT (maybe even a stand alone mono speaker)... and may still go that way. I love old time music and can not wait until I can enjoy this. what I want to learn is how to distinguish record material make up because from what I understand is that some of them will be damaged by alcohol and some might be damaged by water.

hes a great seller... I got my RC64ii from him directly from his warehouse(because I am local to him). hes got an amazing array of goods there. if anyone is doubting his legitimacy... don't. he has the goods. as a matter of fact, I was contemplating buying a second set of speakers for HT... RF7ii's. specially at this price.(I might be able to actually get them for less since he wont have to ship them).

if the rest of the units are as good as the top picture, ask 450... if you NEED to sell, take less. as low as 350.
