  1. Saw this piece of furniture at Home Goods today. As a fan of repurposing things for audio, this would make a nice shelf unit for ones gear, or for several cups of coffee, perhaps. Nice looking, solid and not a bad price either.
  2. Nice review and pics, Professor. That deserves an A. 👍
  3. A nice write-up of your listening session and gear used. I also like that with all of your nicely chosen gear, we share the same Dac, the SMSL SU-8 version 2.👍
  4. Heatwaves are the perfect time to break out your Class D or T integrated amps, for cool running music listening sessions, without putting any heat into ones room, or worry into ones mind. That's what I've done over the years. On the other hand, I posted a vid some time ago about how hot tubes get. In the vid, his power tubes in normal operating mode are reaching 280 degrees, or for you guys over the pond, that would be around 137 celsius. For anyone wanting to see some of the readings, just skip ahead to around the 5 minute mark.

    What I Got Today!

    Looks a bit Norman Rockwell-ish.
  6. Not necessarily a fan of pretty pink flowers, but I am a fan of the subtle aroma and flavor profile of the chive plant. Always nice to have one or two within reach.
  7. The seller has gotten a bit wiser, dropped the price by $1500 bucks.
  8. Any of you living on the east coast espy the solar eclipse this morning? I would have liked to see it. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9672349/Partial-solar-eclipse-visible-East-Coast.html
  9. Is the seller in error? perhaps, I should delete it if so.
  10. Somewhere east of San Diego, in the town of Alpine, Lascalas, just listed on Offerup.com. Edited.😀 https://offerup.com/item/detail/1219357924?q=klipsch
  11. Recently picked up an Roku Ultra to replace the Roku 3 that I had. The jump in image quality is quite noticeable and impressive. This is a screen shot from the couch off of a youtube vid. My projector is still an 1080p model, but still throws a nice image, about 98" diagonal in this pic.
  12. For myself, this is part hobby, the search for cool and or good gear at a good price, I find fun. But it's also in part, a project. Being that, there is also a strong wish to get it done. On the couch, remote in hand, music and home theater at any and all volumes and sounding quite good too. I almost bought a pair of Epic CF3's a couple of weeks back to use one as a center for 3 across the front for added bombastic fun. But in the end, I was too lazy to go through the bother of getting them. It was a close thing though. 😀
  13. There are a few on Ebay. this one with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/324653175141?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338381866&toolid=10001&customid=8b7aaabc-c85f-11eb-a4cf-646335343631

    Carbon Steel Pan

Those cold ones also happen to have a nice polypropylene liner for added pleasure. 😀 https://www.reagent.co.uk/the-science-behind-a-soda-can/

    Carbon Steel Pan

in regards to pans, quite a few years ago information arose that using aluminum pans might not be a good idea. As the aluminum would leach into the food and was considered a possible source of alzheimer's disease. Back in the day, when i was running a kitchen, we threw out all the aluminum pans and went stainless. Now at home, we use cast iron for almost everything and carbon steel for egg dishes. Though I am keeping an eye out for an old Griswold cast iron, that people say is smooth enough that eggs slide off the pan with ease.
  17. Hey Babadono, everything is A-Ok my way. Skies are grey this morning, ☁️ though the sun should shine later. ☀️
  18. My vote goes to engineered with intent. https://www.theweek.in/news/health/2021/05/31/china-engineered-covid-19-then-modified-strains-to-make-it-natural-new-study.html
  19. If you are going for a chocolatey finish, why fool around, get a nice hard chocolate and grate a bit onto the morning grind in the filter basket, then brew. One can add a hit of cinnamon if desired as well. Taste and see if its hitting the right notes for ya. Of course, some give a hit after the brew too. Experimentation is the key. This is the coffee I've been using for years, from Costco. Though I did not notice it before, it says it has "dark chocolate notes"
  20. Well, do try to stay off the ventilators, those things'll kill ya.
  21. Speaking of pets, this was on the news last night out here in California. The girls here are fearless and take no crap, get off my wall.👍
  22. This guy makes his own horn speakers as well as turntables. Here is a nice visual history of some of the turntables from the early days.
  23. What I noticed first was that, behind that sign, the girl had a nice body and was also cute.👍
