  1. Any idea what the price for all the components was? I've been wanting to do this for a couple of years, but have so many other projects i've just never got around to it. In the mean time copper product prices have been on a steady incline and the cost of this build has increased quite a bit. Jeremy
  2. Do you still have the TD124 with the SME 3012? Just wondering if this was in addition to that one or replaced it. Some of you guys go through so much gear it's hard to keep up [] I'm in the middle of rebuilding my TD124. I'll post a teaser pic when the chassis gets back from the body shop. Hey Pete i've been meaning to ask you about Vito & Nick's on Pulaski. Is that near you. I saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, &Dives last month. Looks like a place I need to check out. Jeremy
  3. That looks pretty cool. I'm gonna have to buy that. I'm a big fan of reggae, dancehall, rocksteady, and dub style. I've had very little luck finding well recorded Bob Marley or much of any of these styles, on vinyl. I have a few Marley albums and none of them sound good, but the message is blissful! Jeremy
  4. Just a friendly reminder from the Klipsch Community "terms of service." "You are hereby notified that Political and religious discussions, comments, and references are prohibited."
  5. Thanx for the link Dean! That was a very informative thread. Too bad that the productive threads like that are getting fewer and far between. Jeremy
  6. Sounds like you have a good plan there. My wife is out of town on business through Thursday, so my plans for nights this week involve spinning the black circle and emptying a bottle of Tanqueray. Jeremy
  7. Kinda hard to read and roll joints on the covers aint' it? LMAO, I was thinking "how are you gonna sort out your seeds on a music server?"
  8. I ended up making my own. I just spun down the heads on a lathe at work, and colored them black with a Sharpie. Worked well for me. Jeremy
  9. Very nice looking set-up. I'm glad they are still in the forum family. I was the original owner of these sweet hearts. They were my first purchase for the home theater I was building. My plan was for cherry RF-7's up front and these RB-75's in rear. Then a deal came along for (4) black RF-7's that I could not refuse. So I sold these to Mark Deneen and now use RF-7's (overkill) for the rear in my theater. I have the parts to build a RF-7 center to replace my RC-7 and have an all RF-7 theater someday. So anyway that's how these RB-75's story began. Maybe the other previous owners will chime in and fill in the rest of the story. Jeremy
  10. I'm not using anything yet, but I have a plan! I'm in the middle of the restoration of my Thorens TD-124/ SME 3009/ Zu DL-103 combo. I plan on building a heavy plinth for the Thorens then I will test with and with out the "mushrooms". Then that will sit on a DIY platform i'm planning. I plan to either use racquet balls, emulating the Ginko Cloud type table, I may also try the bicycle inner tube "air bladder" type set up. I plan to build my platform so I can experiment with these and other techniques of isolation. I'm also interested to see what others are using. Jeremy
  11. Since we are refecting now, I think I remember seeing a signature line that listed Juicy Music Cherry amplifier(s) in you rig at one time Mark. What ever happened to it/those, or am I imagining things? This would have been a few years ago. Was that a prototype or a personal project or something? Just curious. Jeremy
  12. I really doubt Microsoft has anything to do with this. Jeremy
  13. I don't know where you are located Jim, but a quick ggogle search found this. http://www.kptm.com/Global/story.asp?S=9662887&nav=menu606_2 Jeremy
  14. That's too bad. I've learned alot from your posts, and was glad to see you post this. Good to know your still watching at least! Jeremy
  15. Awesome rig. There is no replacement for displacement! Jeremy
  16. 2482's run out of gas very quickly after 5kHz. I'm looking at crossing mine about 4.5K. Did Al K. design that for you for that driver? Reason I ask is I've thought about contacting him to see if he would design a ESN for my project. Jeremy
  17. Hopefully the value of used JM products will sky rocket now [] Well....here's to hoping! Jeremy
  18. Congrats Mark! Does this mean i'll never be able to upgrade my BBX with cream? Jeremy
  19. Very nice! I like your approach on the curved sides. That's what is great about a project like this. With our combined creativity and constructive analysis we can keep coming up with better results. Before it all over I may try to improve on my build and produce another pair. Jeremy
  20. 2480, 2482, and 2485 are the only drivers that use that diaphragm. They have a deeper gap.
  21. The tweeter sitting bare on top of a big midhorn is a challenge for good looks (don't kill me Terry). Besides.......I like the tweeter lower.....like at a seated listening level. I noticed this when listening to la scalas and cornscalas. jc My tweeter will be under the mid horn for the reason stated by jc. They will be much closer to ear level this way. My big boys come in at 56" tall, that's 10" taller than an RF-7. My tweeter will be at about 39" from the floor which is the same as the RF-7 tweeter. I will be able to angle the mid horn down if necessary. Jeremy
  22. Here is my driver compliment: JBL 2245H woofer JBL 2482 midrange compression driver Bob Crites Ct125 tweeter
  23. Here is what I plan on doing with my DIY tractrix horns.Maybe someday i'll finish them. They have been sitting in the back of my workshop like this for over a year now. All this recent talk about this horn has got the fire lit again. Jeremy
