  1. I would bet that if the Bose marketing crew did not claim they were the best thing since sliced bread there would be no bashing . Anyone seen the Bose 3-2-1 commercial ? It's message is to forget about everything else "This Is It !" A company so bold as that deserves to be bashed ! Especially since they are wrong ! I would also bet that alot of the folks sold on their products also have Geiko insurance , because let's face it they do have the best commercials ! "The squirrels are my favorite !" I prefer Klipsch speakers because they are the best that I can afford , and USAA insurance because it is the best insurance company ! "Those cannons do look cool though"
  2. That's a little harsh don't you think ? [:|]
  3. I gotta agree with Bart and Oldtimer , "Nobodies Fault but Mine" . Possibly because the radio didn't play it into the ground . So it was actually a treat to hear it !
  4. I could not get into it the first time . But after watching it again I dig it .
  5. Yep , seems the Sopranos jumped on the Brokeback bandwagon However Johnny Cakes , which are also called Hoe Cakes , are simply pancakes made with cornmeal . The name Hoe Cakes refers to plantation workers . They would make them by laying their hoe's out in the sun and actually cooking the mixture on them . Hopefully they were clean . "Seriously , who want's a dirty Hoe Cake ?" At the establishment I work at there is a wonderfull appetizer that uses Hoe Cakes . It is comprised of 4 miniature Hoe Cakes . Each topped with a seared sea scallop . Then a delectable combination of Applewood Smoked Bacon and Granny Smith Apples sauteed in Brandy and Butter is spooned over the top of the Scallops . The dish is finnished with a small portion of sauteed Spinach and a drizzle of Balsamic Vinegar Reduction . It's a little rich but delicious nontheless . Are you ready to order ; Mr. Jackson ?
  6. Thanks Arthur , I really think the DD18 is going to intergrate perfectly . Other than the auto eq , which seems to make this sub idiot proof , I really dig that it has a video out so that you can really fine tune the sub to the room with onscreen equalizing . I talked to a couple of local pros who tried to dissuade me from getting an 18" driver . They both felt that multiple subs would be best for my application . But ya know I allready have basicly 5 washing machines in my room so I felt I should go with the biggest baddest single sub that I could afford . Truethfully though what I really wanted was the DD1812 . So my question to you is if I get a DD12 and stack them will I be essentually making an 1812 ? I like the idea of having the 18" driver handling 50hz and below , and the 12" driver handling 50hz to 80hz . Right now my intentions are to keep my Belles rolled off at 60hz and the DD18 taking it from there to as low as it will go . The only thing that worries me about the sub is if my houshold current can handle it . At peak power I believe it will draw around 25 amps . I'll give a full report when I get it in my grubby little hands . Willy P
  7. I agree totaly but I'm thinking my new Velodyne DD18 won't have a problem . I hope it arrives before Memorial Day . Can't wait to crank up Saving Private Ryan and Pearl Harbor !
  8. 1978 at Read Bros. Stereo here in Charleston . I went with a friend of mine and his dad . My friend was auditioning some LaScalas . They had a room specificaly set up for Klipsch .KHorns in the corners , Belles next to them , LaScalas next to the Belles , then Cornwalls and Heresys . My friend bought a pair of Birch LaScalas and boy did he , we , use them !
  9. Ditto , Faith No More was a great original American band ! I wouldn't describe them as metal though . Screamo maybe .
  10. If you applied some nice floral print wallpaper those would be perfect for your Florida room .
  11. Can't wait for my new sub , should be here in 2 weeks . I hope it can keep up with my 5 Belles ! [li][li][li]
  12. I ran 5 Heresys and an M&K sub for a couple of years . It sounded fantastic ! You will not be dissapointed !
  13. - The wife loves the sound. Put in some Sarah Mclaughlin (sp?) and that took care of that. Just wants new furniture to get the room arranged right. That works for me! She's a smart shrewd lady . Not only is she going to enjoy the Cornwalls sound , she gets a new living room to boot . "Who's zooming who" [] Now you should try replacing the Cornwalls with KHorns and see if she notices . Congrats on your speakers ! Gotta love that new speaker smell !
  14. That's exactly what I have in my Subaru Legacy . I have an Alpine 50 watt x 4 cd/receiver and 4 6.5" Polk coaxle speakers . It won't win any awards , but it sounds pretty good . I do like the fact that I was able to use the Subaru grills . "You wouldn't know there is anything but stock speakers in there by looking at it" . Pretty much all I need in a car , and it doesn't distract me from Emergency Vehicles . Which I feel is very important . Whats inside my house is a completely different animal .
  15. Picky , It's great to see all your hard work ; which is admired by all of us here , recognized and published ! Now fire up the BBQ and Party !!! [<)]
  16. Well the link was fine this morning . In case you missed it here is the version I coppied . And the winner for most pathetic human being of the week goes to OJ Simpson for releasing a hidden-camera prank DVD called Juiced in which he pretends to sell his getaway car, the white Ford Bronco, and engages in some other inhumanly stupid "pranks." In the Ford Bronco bit, he's selling the vehicle at a used car lot and tells the buyer: "It was good for me - it helped me get away. It's a car that I personally made famous. The car has escapability, if you ever get into some trouble." In other none-too-side-splitting stunts on the yet-to-be released DVD, the double-murder acquitee poses as a rapper, an elderly white man in a bingo game for senior citizens, a windshield-washer and a pizza delivery man. While cash-strapped Simpson is eager to hawk the DVD, it's unclear whether any profits will go directly to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, whom Simpson was ordered to pay $33.5 million after being found liable for their deaths in a civil suit. Goldman's father, Fred, tells "Inside Edition" that any profits Simpson makes from "Juiced" will be "blood money."
  17. Hope he gets whats comming to him ! http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix/65893.htm
  18. I'll second North by Northwest , it's my favorite Hitchcock movie . The only one I own in fact .
  19. Oh , and welcome to the forum . [H]
  20. Maybe the Klipsch parts department can help . Those badges do appear on ebay from time to time as well .
  21. I got outbid on a sub Thurs night . I was working and was not able to place a final bid . Since then I have received 5 second chance offers . Anytime you get one of these forward the message to spoof@ebay.com . Now I have no idea if they actually do anything , but ebay will respond and let you know if it's genuine or not .
  22. Hey Billy how ya been ? I would have no problem supplying you with air conditioned storage space for your stuff . I have an extra room which at this time only has 4 Heresys an amp and miss. electronics . Would definitely be interesting to demo the RF's against the Belles . I have been thinking about a pair of Cornwalls next to the Belles so I definitly have the room . I was not very impressed with the RF 7's when I heard them a few years back , but that was in a showroom connected to what I consider substandered electronics . I'll bet my Quad will make them sing ! By the way , I'm sub shopping right now . An old friend Chris who owns a place called Custom Home Sound is going to come over and callibrate my room . Not for free but he is giving me a good deal . When I posed the sub question to him he reccomende the Martin Logans . Truethfully I don't think they have the spl's to keep up with my system , but since you have one I would definitely like to try it out if possible . Speaking of which I'm a little depressed right now . I just threw 5k at a Velodyne 1812 and was outbid . Tommorow I'm going to try 5.5k , but I have a feeling this thing is going to go much higher . Oh well perhaps Klipsch's THX subs could be the ticket . Give me a holla when you find out more about your move . Willy P
