  1. Well said mOOn and so true[] I wonder if having wild chicks run around your yard is akin to the twins[] Sir Thebes?
  2. THX for posting and hosting Dee & mOOn[] Thought I saw old Terry IBSlammin' in those shots too[] Loved the music that was put to it also, what a great place and buch of people reside here[]
  3. Flame thrower here[] Who, I have been a fiber optic tech on sonnet and dwdm gear for many years and am completly familiar with external timing devices for digital applications and as Larry my EAD CDT-1000/DSP 7000 are clocked together and connected via AT&T ST fiber but that still does not deminish what I hear when I listen to music on my system. It is subjective and I will stand by my ears and beliefs until as Max said I'm aurally shown differently and as of this date it's never happened. I have always tried my best to stay away from the deep technical side of things as after all it is what I hear and how I hear it that matters most. I may very well be in denial but I do hear lots of annoying things in the digital domain that far exceeds pops, clicks, wow & flutter and just any old surface noise you might describe or come up with[:^)] I can't tell you how many friends have told me I'm an idiot if I think I can hear anything as fast as digital is but I have heard or not heard crap at any digital sampling or rate so maybe I am but I will stand by my conviction until my internal clock stops[] I'm not so sure if this subject draws out passion or angst but it sure gets the ball rolling around this place, so can we talk the big bad and powerful 2A3 for a while now[6]
  4. I just have to jump in here because I love flames especially when there being lobbed at me[] Music is and always will be from the analog world to sound and be at it's finest, don't get me wrong as I have a wonderful EAD Transport/DAC setup but rearranging bits is not music to me and never will be it's modern sound reproduction plain and simple. Your own ears and brain work in analog where real music eminates from and as long as my old legs will move me to and fro my table I will continue to spin vinyl till I drop (sorry Rob[]) but I don't care if spinning is a pain in your arse it's a pain in my ear to constantly hear the dead lifelessness of digital be it Redbook or SACD I can tell when I'm hearing bits being read[] Heck, if I had a quarter for everyone who told me that can't be a record I'm listening too I would own a rig as nice as Max's by now[] Gotta run home and listen to some Sid Barrett on CD unfortunately but I'm sure the Spaten Optimator is going to help[] Hope to catch some good flames tomorrow[:^)]
  5. Good article to remember Sid by Michael, you will always remember your 10,000th for sure[] A buddy in my office brought me this news this morning and I had planned on going home and having Spaten Optimator (drank them in Germany during my first Floyd concert back in the early 70's) while listening to CD 9 from my Shine On boxset which has some of my favorite Sid material on it!
  6. Larry, I have always wanted to go see a Symph at the Strat! I can make no promises as of yet but I'll be going into nogotiations with my older brother in DC about these dates[] I don't even mind paying the $39.00 if it comes down to that but you know I would love to come and hear your system and see the Strat (Super photo by the way[]) I'll keep you posted and I would love to meet more members also[]
  7. Max is the man not that Allen or Gary might not have given the same advice but I have surely read enough of Max's material to know he has it going on when it comes to vinyl rigs[] Nice call Max[] My vinyl rig is the next upgrade to my system and the Encounter w/Shelter 901 on a Origin Aurora Gold is one of the setups on my shortlist[] if you consider 7 different rigs a shortlist! Congrats Josh and I'm sure you are enjoying every minute of it[]
  8. Damn Seti, Sunburn's center channel looks just like your mains[] Nice HT setup Willy[]
  9. Rich, you the man[] I sure hope you let me know when I can come out and hear them in a home setting[] Congrats Robin, I mean Richard[] Thanks for the pdf Mike[]
  10. I just love this site, told me I errored out and then it sends my post 3 times with the second 2 missing the attachment. Pardon me[:$]
  11. If you have never tried a Chimay please go out and give yourself a treat today as I have found this to be the best beer on this planet bar none and I have drank/drunk beer from all over the world and brewed quite a few myself and I can only aspire to brew something partially close to a Chimay Grand Reserve[] "Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore" which was the slogan for what used to be my favorite beer pub on 6th street in Austin Texas before idiots of no strong character let it be rippedout from under them by the disco underground[8o|] "Uncomfortably long pause.................................where were we again"! One of my favorite lines from Chicken Little[]

  14. As intuitive as Meagain seems and over 1800 post I'm fairly sure she has most members of this forum pegged and she has stated on a couple occasions before her skin is quite thick and myself being with a little thing with blue eyes and blond hair can attest that is not a pre req for being weak of any kind[] Congrats Me[]
  15. I think several people were seduced by that Parson's and Floyd in Hope[] So who else is going to come out of the closet[] If no one noticed the Kaiser could sit and spin vinyl 24/7 if I did not have to feed my family[] Glad to here/hear you got your rig on track Rob and I was just over at Seti's a couple nights ago and he too has just put several coats of oil on his Belle's and they too are "LOOKING GOOD"[] Music, it's not just for breakfast anymore[]
  16. Ditto on Michael & Fini's comments about keeping the forum members 1st in line[] Look just like the one I saw in the museum and I'm with you on the chances a pair this sweet come around every day, not! Good luck with the sale and I'm sure a collector will be contacting you before long[]
  17. Sweet Oldtimer, my buddy got one about that year model a couple years back and it did run like a BOOH[] I had a 1970 Alfa once and when it ran it was pure lust and when the gazillion parts under her hood were not in sync she was worthless IMHO but that's the way it is with Italian love[] Good luck with her and I hope you are a very good mechanic or know one[]
  18. Amen sister[] I was married once to a beautiful woman and after 8 years, a beautiful baby boy (he is now 27!), the only all brick house with central heating and air on the block, 2 new cars in the driveway and steak & potatoes 3 nights a week all I ever got when I came home from working my tail off to provide was "What do we have to show for 8 years of marriage" and you know once a guy takes this day in and day out he starts to break down no matter how tuff he thinks he is! Needless to say we divorced in 1984 and I never married again but since I have been with my new love (1998) we have had 2 more beautiful sons and I'm so glad this young filly chased me down as I am totally happy and not to mention one of the luckiest guys in the world[] She is from a well grounded family who live only 2 miles from us and her Dr. brother/my sons uncle works at the same University Hospital I do and we have a super strong family unit IMHO. I bring this up because I for one don't want any of you to give up on what can be right with the right person. Only a hand full of you know that I was orphaned at 12 and loss of your parents at that age is far worse than losing ones partner to the changing norms of our current society which in some respects is truly going to hell in a hand basket but there are still good people out there and your heart can help you if you just trust it[] I only write these things as I see some real anger going on here and you must drop it if you want to go on with your life and don't think I did not have plenty of anger issues after my seperation as my ex decided she and my then best buddy needed to be together so they got married and had 2 sons the first of which was born with water on the brain and died 5 years after his birth (I have always wondered if higher powers did not punish someone in that whole affair) and now they are seperated as he really had me buffaloed since I never realized what a true loser he was. She has since married a fairly rich guy in the oil business and seems to be happy and belive it or not I'm happy for her even with all that has transpired between us. My moto is forgive but never forget[] Just wanted to put my .02 cents on another view of the whole relationship saga[:|]
  19. Richard, lest we forget who really runs this forum[] LMAO Fini, you sir have an uncanny knac for photography my friend[] I think National Geo should see your portfolio Quite possibly some of the best candid photo's I have seen in years, these shots almost make you wonder who these famous people are[] Thank you again for the wonderful contribution to the forum buddy[] Seti, were did you go for that last beer China?[]
  20. Rex Shed Freds Hex Sex............................. Are the TWINS involved[]
  21. Gary, glad to hear you are about to wrap on the kitchen[] Did you ever get either of those CD's to play? Never got the Cat Stevens out in Hope but the crowd loved the AP and it too was in A++ condition[] Let me know if I can send you something else as I feel I sure got the big end of the stick in this trade[]
  22. Excellent stuff Allan, musicianship at it's finest[] Reminds me I need to seek out some more Chuck Mingus material
  23. Yes Fini, you and the family are welcome back anytime[] Make sure you have a 2 week stay planned next time as we would love to have you over for dinner and who knows we might even listen to some[8]
  24. Jimi Hendrix, The Summit, Houston, Texas 1968. My best friend (Len Gerrard) was 17 years old and I was 12, I had extremely liberal parents God rest their souls. I remember being the only 12 year old I know or knew of that had 4 six foot black lights in his bedroom with some of the best posters that era had to offer. Then in 1969 my older half brother who was stationed in Germany sent me my first rig which consisted of a Grundig AM/FM short wave (valve) stereo with 2 way speakers. I went right out and bought myself a Dual 501 table mated to what might have been the proto run of the venerable Shure V15 cartridge and I have not looked back since[] Have not had a chance to hit the forum lately as our fiscal year end is up at work and have been very busy. Cool thread[]
