  1. They are bi amped using the active xover - DX38. But of course they can be set up for passive, & your choice in amplification.

    Hurricane!

East coast is flooding & our area of third coast has the red tide-ugh. Good luck with the floods guys.
  3. I purchased these new about 2 years ago. There in pristine condition no scratches or dents. The faces are still raw wood with beautiful grain so you can stain or paint to match your needs. They have the Tad drivers which sale new for over $4k, I purchased this pair from another forum member for $2,500.00. I also have the Electro Voice DX38 processor programmed with Roys settings for the Tad - Jub combination, so they are plug & play ready. I have invested $8,200.00 in the speakers - Yours for $6,600.00, if you want the processor with the speakers -$7,000.00, & that's a bargain. All the other associated amps ( Bat 5i,, Crown k2,, Cambridge 840 Azur,, Sophia Electric 300B mono blocks) will be for sale as well but not until the speakers have sold. Located in the Austin Tex area, no shipping unless you make the arrangements. Cornman
  4. The HK 30 series has been well regarded here on the forums for years for use with horns. so the 930 was one of my first experiments & Iv never been disappointed at the price point, great receivers. They really smooth out any harshness you might be dealing with. Good review Jim.

Its those east Texas pine tree's, that bring out the rosin in a 20K man. Good to have you with us Carl.
  6. Excellent suggestion Taz. I also tried to suggest an alternative to selling for USNRET, but he seems set on it, & thats as it should be - his choice. We are all just trying to help a forum brother. Best of luck with your sale neighbor, I willl be down on the Island soon my self, for the fall Redfish run, will shoot you a pm . Cornman
  7. " just incredibly disappointed in society at the time" been there done that,, including going in to rants here among my friends. You came out ahead when you saw the- Two lessons learned today. Enjoy the music my friend.
  8. Thanks Luther for another good & informative fun afternoon. Even ran into old friend Allen from the Audio Karma days. The Animusic video was just stunning & I usually dont care for such things but I recommend this to everyone, easily found on Youtube. There were so many different systems to listen to it was like a carnival just moving from one room to the next for a different sound, what fun. The biggest surprise for me were the wireless Bookshelf seize speaker system - that contained amp & dac within the Cabinet.. "Mark & Daniels", here is a you tube link -- Boy were they ever amazing for there seize. The other amp I really wanted to hear were Luthers new - antique sound labs 845 set monoblocks., Next time my friend. Great gear, good times, beautiful hospitality. Cornman
  9. Reminds me of a night back in about 70-71,, Santa fe N>M> having super with Christopher & a couple of gals. I am real sure my mind was very simple that night... Gota lov the Einstein, like P.K. he got too the heart of the matter in only a few words.
  10. Just recently read Neal's Bio, & I see your point, I always wonder about artist' s in general . Many seem to have some sharp edges or other extreme contradictions. Oh my how the man puts his money where his mind is & has a long history of fighting for better recording quality.
  11. Yahoo, I will be there with bells on, & all the BQ & Beer required. Luther has such a variety of great gear that most of us would lust for. All ways a great time for all. Thanks Luther, PM sent.
  12. " Single Ended Triode is still considered the benchmark",, Oh yea! Works for me. Ducking & dodging the heat from you SS guys, Pm sent Maynard
  13. So sorry for your situation, the response & lack of replacement did not surprise me at all. So perverse, but thats the way things are rolling. ugh
  14. There are quite a few of us now bi-amping our systems, & since acquiring mine I have had this question. Would there be any positive advantages to building (designing) an amp specifically designed to handle just the mids & high fq as the K402 use's - no bass needed . Advantage's in sound quality not necessarily $ savings? We are blessed to have several custom builders on this forum, & as sharp as they are I suspect they would have already built one , but small inquiring minds like mine come up with such questions as I rock out with my Klipsch sweethearts. 15. Cranky I have been siting here for some time considering your question, weather to PM or just reply here. It is the Lounge & we are mostly all among friends, so I will do the best I can to describe the story in hopes it my help some one else. My Pat was one of the happiest, loving people you would ever hope to meet. Nothing put a bigger smile on her face then pleasing me & her children & helping anyone in need , giving strangers children food & xmas gifts. She had a true joy for life & was a devoted Christian, still loving me even though I am basically an Agnostic. Her health issues began to appear some 20 years ago, at that time there was no medical test for or any information by the medical field for Fibro Malegia . She saw many doctors, most told her she was just depressed & needed to see a shrink. As the year's (decade) went by Fibro became identified & recognized as a ligament disease. Doctors began giving her Vicodin, Zanex & mussel relaxers (Soma). Then the govt got involved -& she was sent to the type of pain clinics you describe in your earlier post making her feel like a criminal & addict. This had a very negative effect because she was so overly sensitive. Fibro attacks the joint & nerve system, at times her whole arm & shoulder would turn purple with inflammation, little to no sleep for years. Then the Lupus attacked her weakened body-- continuing the downward spiral although never hospitalized... Bottom line is it just grinds you down! She said repeated over the past few years a dog should not have to live like this! She mentioned suicide occasionally, but always said she couldn't take her own life because of her christian beliefs. So I did not ever really believe she would do it, plus she loved her 2 grown children & me so very much & life itself -- but obviously it got to the breaking point. Every day I still ask my self could I have done or said something that would have changed the outcome, & I am sure I will still be asking those questions the rest of my life. As I said a few month ago, hug & tell your loved ones what your heart says as if today was the last day, and in between Enjoy the Music my friends.
  16. While we are still kicking this subject around the Lounge, I would like to comment (hopefully with out hijacking the thread) That I received a tremendous response of support from members of our Klipsch Forum back in February & followed up by several loving member in the months since, & that support was -is- priceless. Two member's, Wardsweb & DWI LAWYER attended the Funneral service, just as I know several of you did for our brother Boxx. This forum ROCKs in so many ways. I raise my glass to all of you,,, , A Doss XX of course. Cornman
  17. I am glad to see this subject brought up. As many of you know my 56 year old wife committed suicide due to long term pain & the Govt policy's to play Doctor, & no she had no mental issues other then those created by many years of pain. As others said pain grinds you down! Peace & health to you all. Cornman
  18. I am not a home surround guy, but just have to say Youthman that is an impressive & beautiful set up. How about Cornscallas for those surround systems, would they work ? If I were starting over again on this audio road as a two chl. man, Cornscallas would be my direction. Cornman
  19. "For The Tube Guys" ,, Yes I heard some one call my name... Got ta love the snake oil but I do think many of us agree different caps can change the sound, they just dont have to be triple price to produce what we want to hear. Some of out favorite forum builders recommend the very inexpensive caps. Sorry for the highlighted text-I cant get it off , I am such a clutz with the puters,,lol.
  20. Wow.... What a wife********** welcome to the forum. Mostly I second what Thebes said take your time , two channel & surround or totally different experiences & we all have our different goals with a sound that satisfies, many here use subs,, I have never wanted one. Enjoy
  21. Steven a few years back I got my self all worked up about the IRS, & I went Into a rant about it in the 2 channel forum this was pre Lounge forum days. Many forum members responded agreeing & sharing story's similar experiences. One member said he also agreed there is a problem, but politely asked me to drop the subject because he has to deal with all theses stressful life subjects most ever day & that one of the reasons he enjoys the Klipsch forum & music so much is for the fact that the forum= like music is his escape from all those type's of concerns & pressures. After thinking about what he said for a few moments, I realized he was right, & I apologized. I feel the same way this place is my escape-retreat from the gremlins,& drudgery of life's worry's. How sweet the music is , especially thru Klipsch.
  22. From one painter to another, Primo.. all the prep work shows even with this one limited photo.. I assume the Finnish is very hard being a two part urethane.. Congrats Bob

  24. As Mr. Sachmo ( L. Armstrong) said so eloquently said - "Zpp pa de doo da ,,,, What a Wonderful day " !!!
  25. I'm glad you said that. How many times do people get this one wrong? Too many....... Shakey Loving it Shakey, This corner issue is the Cornwalls strong suite. Also why my name is Corn man , I love um. But to answer op question about tubes (& I am a devoted tube man) with your music preferences I am surprised your not content with SS. Have you done any direct comparison tests (Tube vs SS) in your own listening room? Welcome t the wonderful world of klipsch. If you go slow you will save a ton of money & get just the sound your looking for .
