  1. I knew there was something special about that guy Where did that yellow bus go? [:^)]
  2. I only watch TV 5 minutes every day,............. just to remind me why I do not watch TV
  3. I agree but it might not be what you think. I do some volunteer work for different associations, one of the program we have is to collect used cell phones for women in shelters. They usually left their homes because of spouse abuse, they are below the poverty level but having a cell phone can be the difference between life and death if they need help
  4. You can't never have enough center channels []
  5. You can always build it yourself. I build mine so I can adjust the shelves for what I need
  6. You should call Klipsch and talk to a rep about you want to do
  7. The 880 is the 6th remote I bought and so far my least favorite to be honest. I agree with the ergonomic and buttons comments, but the way the power on and off operates is one of the most absurd way to set up. It is a good remote but for 1/3 of the price the universal MX 500 is as good if not better.
  8. The price gap between a good dvd player and an entry level blu ray player is almost non existent today. You will get much better video and sound quality with a blu ray player and even if you can't upgrade to newer options you are still way ahead compare to a standard DVD. I think the PS3 is still the best choice, you get an media center, a computer, a blu ray player and a game console for $399. It has no limitations for software upgrade which is one of reason it was one of the first player to be able to do HD Dobly digital and HD DTS decoding as well as 2.0 blu ray.
  9. That's what I got. Really nice quality easy to use.
  10. Not so sure about that. The RS 42, 52 and 62 are complete different type of speakers compare to the previous RS series. I spent the all day yesterday running test between RB 61 RS 42 , RS 52, KSF S5 and RS 3II. We started at a friend's house with a 7.1 system which had RS 42 on the side and RB 61 in the rear. We swapped the RB 61 with the RS 52 and ran the THX demo cd using the pod race from starwars and then the jungle sound. The RB 61 just could not do the job as well as the RS did. I went home and tried the RS 42, RS 52, RS 3II and the KSF S5 with my 5.1 system, I used Band of brothers on blu ray and David Gilmour live at the royal albert hall for the test The KSF did not get near what the RS 42 can do, the RS 3 did ok but still not as accurate and as full as the RS 42/52. I did not notice much differences between the RS 42 and the 52 to be honest Just my .2 cents
  11. Just remenber that next time you fly and complain about the price of the ticket being to expensive. Training and skills are expensive, more often then not you get what you pay for.
  12. Tell me you did not mean that or you meant to say something else. Do you even know what it takes to become a pilot and to be able to reach that level a flying job? Do you think actually think the airlines would let any idiots fly a multi-million dollars machine with 150 people on board if they were not well trained and thought they would try to ditch an airplane for fun??
  13. Wescott and I did that test. He has a 5.1 RF 7 HT system which was featured in The Home Theater Magazine last year.( you need to check it out) We did not like the set up much, it was not bad but the RC 7 was a much better match for the RF 7 I would recommend that you keep looking for an RC 7 if you can. The funny thing is we did the same test with my RF 83 , a RC 7 with a dean X-over upgrade , a normal RC 7 and the RC 64. I could barely hear the difference between the Dean x-over upgraded RC 7 and the RC 64. They both did a good jo. Youthman is correct regarding his description of the RF 7 VS the RF 8 series
  14. What are you trying to do?? If music is your main interest,by all means go with the towers but I would consider getting rid of the RB5. For HT stay with the WSDT type speakers, The rs 7 is an outstanding speakers, you will not be disappointed and it is a perfect match for the RF 7 I replaced my RS 3II with the RS 52,the new RS series are incredible speakers. I guess if you choose to stay with the WSDT speakers it comes down to how much money you want to spend
  15. Wow, I actually did get something right for once
  16. I can't wait to top hear it but to be honest I'm getting really disappointed with Emotiva as I have been on the waiting list for the XMC-1 for almost a year now. The UMC-1 was suppose to be out 6 months ago pushed back to December and now may be February? Do I even dare asking If I can expect to see the XMC- 1 before the end of the decade? Regardless, I don't think you can beat it for the price.
  17. Very nice and welcome to the madness! The pioneer receiver will do just fine with that set up. I agree with Inventor regarding the price, for that matter you should be able to get at least 15% to 25 % discount on the speakers as well if you shop at the right place at the right time. The only thing I would be concerned about is the sub, 270 watts might be a little short. I did listen to the WF speakers before and the bass did not seem to be there strong point. Now granted I did not give them a full listening session and bass is a matter of taste, so take it for what it is worth
  18. I did that for awhile on my RF 3 system. I had the pre outputs for the rear sent to an external amp with A and B selection. I just turned one or the other ON as needed. I later went to two amplifiers, one for the RS speakers and one for the towers.
  19. You already have the blue ray player and the TV, so obviously the speakers (front, center, surround and the subwoofer) and the receivers are the next in line. Previous statements already gave you a place to look for the accessories Assuming that you will start with a 5.1 system then build up from there. If you are under a $1000 as I said look into Harman kardon but the Pioneer Elite and the Denon are also solid receivers. If you go above a $ 1000 I would look into separate, companies like emotiva.com or outlawaudio.com will have something for you Most of the receivers will have the same basic features such 1.3 hdmi, Audessey calibration system, cross over settings etc ... so choose the one which sounds the best to you. However, the Harman Kardon (the manual sucks though) and the Pioneer Elite are some of the easiest receiver I ever had to set up
  20. I will second James statement. You should look into the reference line and do a comparaison if you can, the WF and RF lines are some what different speakers to me. Speakers such the RF 82 or RF 63 set will do an outstanding job for music as well as HT and they should fit in your budget. Music seems to be very important to you so I would suggest that you take a good look at the HK receivers. There warm sound is a very good match with Klipsch speakers. For cables, mono price.com or bluejeans.com are very online companies to buy from. Vanns. com is another very good retailer, I have bought mumerous times from them with no problem. Let us know what you end up with
