  1. That's pretty cool. Guess I'm easily amused also. My father out law has often called me simple.
  2. Those are pretty. I really hope they aren't painted black by the new owner. I'm only an hour from Indy so could probably pick them up and baby sit for a few weeks for a forum member if Colter of Indy don't have room but I'm sure there's always room at The House of Klipsch for a couple more though they could tend to blend in.
  3. Your amplifier must sound pretty terrific then as it looks really nice to me. (Of course this is coming from someone who considers a sledgehammer a necessity for carpentry work... ) Enjoy with your new Heresy III!
  4. When I first saw this thread I thought maybe Richard, Klipsch VP of Engineering, had started a Bose Anonymous group as part of his redemption plan.
  5. Congratulations. Awesome new speakers on the way and a great trip. From my minimal exposure to Roy at the Pligrimage this year he really is quite a guy.
  6. Very nice. Especially so quickly.
  7. I finally expanded and read the letter from PWK. A fascinating read. I was in colleg in 1984 and did make it through and could be considered one of them rockrollers he referred to. I think I still have my hearing intact though I'm sure it's not as good as PWK's must have been. I've never owned a tube amp though I think they're kind of cool. And seem to beg for a more hands on approach, begging to be tweaked every now and then. Back in college, one of my math professor's idea of a nice chilly fall evening was to sit at home in front of the fireplace working out a tough integral... my thought was along the lines of warming myself near a glowing tube amp either mellowing out, rocking out, or hopefully haning out with some Luther Vandross playing alongside a hot babe....
  8. Breathtakingly beautiful work Greg! Leaves me speechless.
  9. Exceptionally beautiful work and craftsmanship. I think PWK would be proud. I believe his goal wasn't to produce the biggest speakers, just the best. I think the fact that people would put so much time and effort into restoring and continually using such old speakers is proof that Klipsch has been doing something right since the beginning. The Klipsch Heritage speakers definitely withstand the test of time, making beautiful music for decades and generations.
  10. A couple of my favorites I've seen and heard live are John Entwistle from the Who and Leland Sklar playing with James Taylor. Have also really enjoyed the work of Chris Squire of Yes, Jaco Pastorius with Weather Report, Victor Wooten with the Flecktones and others. Haven't seen Yes live and haven't listened to any Yes in a while other than a little bit from the Symphonic Live DVD Michael put on at the Pilgrimage to demo the bass capabilities of the RT-12d. I didn't know I could hear bass that deep. Definitely a DVD to add to my collection. Probably be disappointed until I get speakers or subwoofer that can dig really deep. Some day ....
  11. I didn't realize Outlaw made any of their products in the USA. The last time (quite some time ago) I visited the Outlaw site I was under the impression that they designed everything in the USA and had it manufactured elsewhere. "Made in the USA" would definitely swing me towards the Outlaw equipment all other things being equal or close.
  12. Sounds like a great time. I'd love to experience both rooms. Almost makes me miss living in Plano which I left in 1994 after living there 5 years. Have a great day.
  13. Ok Tom, just who's nuts? Never mind, I'm sure I'm as nuts as anyone.... probably could even find some proof somewhere (as if my postings here don't prove how nuts I am).
  14. Michael, Congratulations. I hope you were ready to spill your secret though it sounds as if it had been exposed. I think The House Of Klipsch wouldn't be complete without 'em and that you definitely need a pair. I do hope the 60th Anniversary Klipschorns still remaining are sold stateside as it'd be nice if a good quantity would remain in the US. I'd love to have a pair and have determined that I have 2 rooms with corners that could work, but no speaker budget at this time. I wonder if the fact that most were sold in Europe means that the US market for new Klipschorns is pretty small? Or that the music lovers and Klipsch fans in the US who would buy K-Horns already own them? And maybe just don't have the funds to upgrade to the latest and greatest? Or just don't need to as the older models are still awesome? The sad thing is, a lot of people spend more, sometimes a lot more, and don't get sound with the Klipsch level of quality. Ben
  15. Congratulations. Not only a really awesome pair of speakers at a great price, it's the 1st 2 produced, and already broken in. Enjoy! [H]
  16. Very interesting statistics Michael. A lot of the Forum members are buying new Klipsch which is a good sign and not all that surprising. It's not really surprising that the Heresy 3's are selling great in Europe for a lot of different reasons beyond the incredible Klipsch sound, in a relatively compact package. I think Klipsch should be very proud that products manufactured in the US are selling so well abroad and hope that the flagship lines continue to be made in Hope. I really hate to see the demise of American craftsmanship that's being or has been phased out long ago. Besides, even if sales are relatively slow in the US, hgh volumes should ensure there'll be some for the US market. A few things that have surpised me over the past few months are that there are still some new 60th Anniversary Klipschorns available. You'd have thought those would've all been sold long before now. Yes they're not inexpensive, but are probably one of the highest value speakers on the market when the quality of sound is considered. But this is maybe not so surprising as K-Horns built in the 90's, 80's, 70's, and even 60's are still going strong and still sound better than most anything else currently available. Most of the people who would buy them already have Klipschorns, sometimes 2 pairs ( and I'm sure there's at least a couple of Klipschanatics that have 3 or more pairs). Most K-Horn owners and are probably too busy enjoying what they have to upgrade to the latest and probably ultimate K-Horn to this point. This also seems to be true of the rest of the Heritage line as well. I think the iPod and promedia will eventually lead people to the Heritage series, maybe most will stop at the reference series but I think that there will always be a market for the really big (full size, heavyweight) Klipsch that just seem to have more liveness to the sound. The reference series is jaw droppingly good, but the Klipschorns seem to be even better.
  17. Richard, Your comments and responses at the Pilgrimage were wonderful. I'm sure you've gotten quite a bit of flack about your days with the dark side during your years at Klipsch. The new products are awesome and should propel Klipsch even further ahead of the competition and I'm sure I missed a few things others picked up on. And lest we forget, you did bring some wildly successful products to the market in your past life. The future is very exciting and blindingly bright for Klipsch with that kind of market foresight and understanding applied to Klipsch's passion and ability to deliver products that are a lot better than expected. I can envision multiple products being spawned from the technologies in the CS700, and Mark Blanchard's project is just crazy good and should do exceptionally well in the market. Keep up the great work! Ben
  18. Now that is a sweet deal. Guess I'll have to start visiting sales more often. Way to go.
  19. Michael, Need anything picked up in NC? We're heading there Friday for about a week. Ben p.s. Congratulations Bob! I'm new to this Forum and would've felt guilty (almost) winning. Jubilees would be a bit overwhelming as a start to a Klipsch collection.
  20. Marie Osmond? I was there, it was well deserved... and yes we all cracked up ... not really at your expense, just a great response to a really funny comment. Now if he'd have put on Marie Osmond.... I think you should feel honored.
  21. I agree with whoever posted to make Dr Larry's presentation part of the official agenda. I really wish I'd have made it in. Must've been going on when I wondered back to the CW room and it appeared packed. I added Dr Larry's post as a favorite hoping I'll come back and do some DVD shopping later.
  22. Woo Hoo! The Pilgrimage was a GREAT time. A lot of really cool and interesting people. I didn't get around to meeting everyone (but did pretty good for me).... The in wall speakers were far better than what I'd ever expect for inwall speakers. The new products were very impressive - exciting new areas for Klpsch- but living up to the Klipsch standard of delivering FAR more than the competition. Fred Klipsch seemed to really enjoy attending the Pilgrimage and to value the input provided by the attendess. All the Klipsch employees are extremely passionate and excited about their work. A lot of awesome demos and information. I hope I can make it next year and in the following years.
  23. Michael, I almost went and got you one Friday just before dinner but remembered that Christy has posted something about not letting you have too many rock stars. Thanks for all your work on the Pilgrimage and putting together the test track CD which I managed to listen to it in it's entirety in one of the rooms we're not supposed to talk about yet (think small Klipsch) and the selection of music was very good. Should I be proud or scared that I was at least somewhat familiar with the selections and/or the artists? I'll try to bring you one of those diet Rockstars next time our paths cross. Awesome job! Ben
