  1. I love my Fortes the best of all. LOL
  2. Are you guys kidding on the sattelite costs? I have Directv with 3 hd dvrs and one standard dvr. We have every channel(including all movie channels) the NFl sports package. I also get the superfan option that makes sure all the games I see are in HD and our bill is around $80.00 month. If you have directv call em up throw a fit if your bill is over $100.00 and you can get some bonuses thrown your way. I used to be one of those people who did not like to do that but that is the game All of the providers have created, so play it to your advantag. The one thing I do not get is locals in HD as that is not available in this area yet.
  3. Probably because he felt it was none of our business. We have to respect that whether we like it or not.
  4. And the classiest ad I've ever seen. trade sex for PS3 - $1 (Lawrence) Date: 2009-08-14, 12:07AM CDT Reply to: sale-b97tw-1322388716@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] Hi, Me ( 25/F) or my (23/F) or my (23/M/Gay) room mate will have any form of sex with you and bring you dirty dirty pleasure for a backwards compatible PS3. 5. Had to laugh at this little gem. Recipie for Disaster - FOR FREE! (Perry, KS) Date: 2009-08-12, 3:13PM CDT Reply to: sale-q6vwp-1319830568@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] What we have to offer is one very localized mess. We've come up with many great ways to spin the story, to market more effectively - and, sadly, in the end all we have is the truth. We have 5 55-gallon drums full of some kind of unidentifiable blue waxy stuff. It is for certain: Waxy. It is also IN the drums. That is the sum total of what we know about it. In addition we have a tire that had to have caused somebody some grief when it blew, cuz it's allll the way blown out. But, it DOES have a rim. It may have gone on a Dodge pick-up. So, it's got that goin' for it. And, finally (as if all this weren't enough so far) we've got a fridge. It stands upright and has a door on the top and door on the bottom. It's not quite white and not quite ecru. Surely it doesn't work or it wouldn't be hanging out with all the other stuff there. But, I suppose it's not inconceivable that it might work. Should it come to pass that you don't have nearly enough trouble in your life, and you'd like to take a beautiful little road trip out here to Perry - we've got about one truck load of trouble and we're willing to let you have it. We probably won't help you load it though, so bring a strong back or two.
  6. Wow ! Whatever the reason glad all is well. I am not a really well known name araound here I have only met three people on this forum but I do love to read all the conversations on here and some of the regulars become familiar to me. The forum is always a little "less" when one of the regulars goes away. Godspeed Sir!
  7. Of course it's a mistake. I am sorry for your loss. Somebody once told me, after I had made a crude joke about someone who had died, everyone on this earth has someone that loves them and will miss them. That has been what I think about every time I hear of anyone committing suicide. It's a very selfish act.
  8. I made it to the boss levels and I just got tired of it. I had about 100 members and have amassed a large amount of money and property. After a while it just became a chore so I quit playing.
  9. Unfortunately all the carriers are like that. It's the nature of the system. I've worked for Sprint and there is absolutely no benefit for the employee to really do some research and help a customer out. You have quotas you must meet and if your average handle time is high you will get fired. If you give away too much in the way of doing what is right by a customer you get fired. The name of the game is sell plans upgrades and contract extensions and you are rewarded for that, so guess what there are people that will take advantage of that system and screw the customer over. By the time it is figured out by the customer you already have your commission or bonus. The company has the customer by the short hairs and no one will help you.
  10. Nope I think Kobe has him beat and I remember watching Jordan well. He was great, Kobe is better.
  11. personally dislike Kobe but I must give him his due. He is the most talented player to ever hit the court.
  12. I sold a set that looked horrible but sounded excellent for $100.00. And when I say horrible I mean they had been dark stained Oak someone painted black and then tried to strip it back off and did a really bad job of it left a lot of paint in the grain and hard to get areas several chips and dings but the sound was fantastic. They don't get super loud but very nice sounding. I'd say good score.
  13. I was bit by a Brown Recluse a couple of Years ago and I almost lost my foot to it. I had gotten into chiggers and originally thought it was another chigger bite. But it started to hurt pretty bad. I was given IV antibiotics for about 3 weeks and I believe it was called Dapzone, a Leprosy medicine to stop the Necrosis. A lot of pain and my foot isn't very pretty but i did get to keep it.
  14. A lot of receivers rate their power for each channel with one or two channels driven which inflates the numbers quite a bit. If a Harman kardon says 65 watts it will drive all of the channels at that rating at the same time. My yamaha will not push 135 watts on 7 channels even though it is rated 135x7 Don't get me wrong. I like my Yamaha very much. They just play with the numbers as do a lot of companies. Don't let the numbers make your decision. HK makes excellent gear.
  15. 15" concrete forming tube with wood end caps. I used a 2 ft section and two 18" table tops you can buy from lowes. Driven by a 200 watt amp. It is not as pretty as a RSW 15 but it rocks. Make sure you cut the holes for the drivers pretty tight I made one too big and it has air leaks when I crank it. I'll replace when I get the motivation. I did have the passive for mine though.
  16. bigdaddy

    recievers?

I agree with better power over more power. But better speakers will give you a bigger increase in SQ IMO of course.
  17. enjoy him all you can. I can think of nothing more beautiful than a newborn baby.
  18. Congratulations, that is truly a beautiful picture.
  19. you don't need crazy expensive ones. Have a Merry Christmas!
  20. My yamaha will not down convert HDMI.
  21. I also use the 7 channel enhancer and I love it. on some material though I do go with 2 channel. Did the suggestion I gave earlier help?
  22. Yes a preamp with a sub out is what he needs. A lot of avrs can be used as preamps nowadays.
  23. Don't look at wattage ratings as set in stone. Some of the companies play with the numbers a little and it confuses people. A 50 watt per channel HK is as powerful as a 120 watt per channel Yamaha for the most part. I have a yamaha and it does wonderful. My next HT receiver may very well be a HK. Pioneer Elite are good products Sony doesn't do it for me. If you have quartets then the academy is what a lot of folks on here will suggest.
