  1. Looks like someone apparently bought them.
  2. It was mentioned about changing out an exponential horn with a tractrix above. I've pondered that for my Belle clones in building one that would fit in the stock size top hat if I stay 3-way. Is shortening the tractrix horn to that low of a height going to negate the advantage of using a tractrix in the first place?
  3. Haven't you covered this same topic in the 2 Channel sub forum already? Starting another thread won't elicit many new opinions. You could have a moderator take your original thread and move it here....then delete this one.
  4. Ahhh... The picture of the emblems that a member of Audiokarma posted of his were from 1980 so those would be different. SO those 3 years are the laser badges. Gotcha. I kind of like the others better but to be true to form, might haveto keep an eye out for more of the laser versions. Or just go ahead and stick the new series badges I have on them.
  5. I didn't think my '78's used that version. At least from a picture someone posted of theirs from the same year.
  6. I looked at them some...there's a lot of good looking Chinese amps out there. But, at the end of it all, I went with my gut and bought the VTA ST-70 amp from Bob Latino and am thoroughly happy. Plus, he answers emails super fast, speaks English (lol), and also phone calls. By the time you spend $600 shipped, you're not far off from something else that tons of people out there own and can help you with versus having to reverse engineer the amp to troubleshoot. Just my $.02.
  7. What vintage are these emblems for?
  8. I ordered badges from Klipsch for my CF-3's. One was missing when I got them and the ones they had worked perfectly for them. I can't remember where I put the one original one, though. I'd like a pair of originals for my Cornwalls but I'm not paying $100+/- for them. Might just do new versions on them, too.
  9. You might delete the other two duplicate posts.
  10. What amp are you going to go with? Me personally....it would be tubes of some sort. Something new like a tubes4hifi VTA ST-70 that can run either pentode or triode. Those speakers are efficient and don't need a lot. My ST-70 will bring the Cornwall's to puh-lenty loud levels for me and it will be running my Belle's once I get them built. Just my $.02.
  11. I am going to rehash this horn building project for my Belle clones. I'd rather keep them true to their look, size wise, and use the drivers I already have; new K-33's and some K-77's or CT-120's. All I have to buy is crossovers from Crites or build them myself. Might even get some A-55's for them. Who knows... I can use the K-55's from the Cornwalls if need be.
  12. Did it use that now "unobtanium" KSS-151a laser, too? I used to run some Denon CD players and sold them when new....DCD-1500, 1800, 1560, 2560 and 3300 I've owned....and sold. Only CD player I have now is a Carver DTL-200 single disc from '87 that just sits for decoration as it's signed by Bob Carver. All my CD's are on a music server now.
  13. Still not sold. I email him making offers and with cash in hand. But not at his price...or even $2k. I'm only willing to pay so much for a pair. Beyond that, it's just not worth it nor that important to me.
  14. I wouldn't worry about changing out the inductors or the autoformers, personally. Unless something was wrong with them or, well, you just want to. Did you get new diaphragms in yet?

is that in New York? Weird that they are from two different years. Decent deal though.
  16. Wasn't this same thread started in another area?
  17. Even at $2k, I wouldn't pay it. Just not worth it to me. They are nice looking for sure.
  18. I've had the TFM-55 before at 380wpc and it was a great sounding amp. The only reason I sold it is I had my M-1.0t rebuilt to the MkII Opt 002 which puts it at 460wpc. Ahhh.....the elusive TFM-75
  19. Been posted a few times in the "Alerts" section already. This area is for people here selling their stuff.
  20. No, playing them after they are soldered in.
  21. Do you have a multimeter to test for resistance with? Did you try hooking the tweeters by themselves directly to the speaker wires at low volume to see if they have output per chance?
