  1. BTW this is according to Chris the founder of Audyssey. He also recommends that when a subwoofer is used always set your speakers to SMALL even if running Audyssey sets them to LARGE. If they get set to LARGE when running Audyssey it actually is not Audyssey that does this just something being done by the receiver/processors manufactuers settings. He recommends resetting them to SMALL if running Audyssey sets them as LARGE
  2. You should use all of Audyssey's specific mic locations, not your actual seating spots.
  3. I think he was just honestly confused by the caps and thought that there were no holes for banana plugs.
  4. A Monitor does not have a built in tuner and has more options for inputs than a TV. My Panasonic TH-50PH9UK professional model plasma is a monitor or display not a TV. It has no built in tuner or speakers, it has optional add on inputs available with some options that no TV has via 4 removable input board cards. Since there is no built in tuner it has no coax input but does have available VGA, DVI, HDMI, component, composite, BNC and a variety of some very exotic industrial input options available. It also has more settings to control picture than your usual TV. I connect it to my HTPC which has 4 tuners to watch TV.
  5. There's 5 music rooms right there, problem solved! Now where to sleep?
  6. I missed the fact that you already own an RC-7 and use it with another system. Definitely try your RC-7 then you can see how the rear ports will work in your location. The RC-7 is an absolute jewel of a center to use with RF-5 fronts.
  7. I prefer my speaker cables bi-wired, I have found there to be an ever so slight bit more clarity of detail and my front and center speakers are all bi-wired using my self made cables with Mogami 2921 quad core wire. I once tried passive bi-amping my fronts using 4 of my Emotiva XPA-5's channels but I never noticed any difference at all doing this. My last 3 sets of main speaker cables have been bi-wired and I do like the results, when I replaced the second set I first went with single wire but I felt something was missing when listening to music and I ended up adding another pair to bi-wire that set as well. My current set of speaker cables using the Mogami 2921 wire really impressed me from the first time I installed them, they really seemed to be a very nice improvement in fine detail.
  8. The RC-62 ii won't mate anywhere near as well, I'd still recommend trying the RC-7 you won't find a better match, I don't think the rear ports will be a problem and if they are you should be able to easily sell the RC-7 if it just does not work for your location.
  9. Agreed the RC-7 is the perfect match for the RF-5 and they work flawless together.
  10. When I was auditioning different power conditioners/strips I found the most degradation in the sound of bass and sometimes hard impacts in HT seemed to to get limited at times as well. Other things I noticed were slight tonal changes sometimes effecting harshness or warmth of the overall sound. I found my system to sound its best with the PF-60. I also really like other features of the PF-60 as well like. The best isolation with six pairs of isolated outlets, most others have less isolation usually 2,3 or 4 isolated banks or groups of outlets. This separates your components and helps keep them from effecting other components of your system. The best surge protection with the highest joule rating at 7114. The best control of powering ON with great options for delays and switched outlets and trigger control. Nice amperage metering with digital readout. Two excellent "high current" outlets which did not limit my amps or subwoofer. Here is a pic that shows the inside of the PF-60
  11. I auditioned quite a few power strips and power conditioners on my system including the highest end Panamax and Furman models. The power conditioner I like best and sounded best in my system with no degrading was the Belkin PureAV PF-60 and I really feel it is far nicer than all the others I tried. I have both my amps (Emotiva XPA-2 and XPA-5) plugged into the high current outputs with no sound degradation. My sub is currently plugged directly into the wall but I am waiting delivery tomorrow of an Emotiva CMX-2 to try out for my sub. My sub also works well plugged into my PF-60 but only two of the PF-60's outputs are for high current and they are being used by my two amps. After a lot of comparing and testing of various power strips and power conditioners the Belkin PF-60 really topped them all and I would really recommend it.
  12. I use TracFone and have a Samsung Galaxy S7 with TracFones BYOP (bring your own phone), definitely the best deal around and uses AT&T service. Great phone and great service and right now I probably won't pay another cent until 06/20/2018.

    What I Got Today!

That's when the mine fields and machine gun equipped drones come into play.
  14. I am looking for a pair of Emotiva black trim pieces, 3 RU size, GEN 1 style. The 3 RU size fits XSP-1 or XMC-1. I am looking for pieces black anodized by Emotiva not painted. I can either buy out right or trade for original silver Emotiva trim pieces. This style in size 3 RU high (3 rack units) they measure 5 1/4 inch high.
  15. This is my find as well, it is slight enough that most wouldn't notice but if you like to go that little extra to get the very best sound it maybe worth considering. I make my own speaker cables using Mogami W2921 4-Conductor 13GA Speaker Cable and I am extremely happy with the result. Here's a pic of one of the speaker cables I made before the GLS locking bananas were added.

    What I Got Today!

I do think a pair of these would be the perfect finishing touch for the new gate!
  17. I couldn't agree more. And I have found the RF-5's really come to life with both power and tubes.
  18. Sounds like an excellent deal, you can always make a lower offer but if they are in perfect condition they are well worth $660. If you don't want them let me know where they are as I am local to Long Beach, I am in Anaheim
  19. This thread was brought to you by Chevrolet. Thanks for viewing

    What I Got Today!

Those little satellite coasters are only good for small shot glasses.
  21. The RF-5's get my vote as well, one of my favorites. I have loved the sound of my RF-5's for about 15 years. For me the RF-5 is an excellent size, gorgeous styling with real wood veneer and one of the most natural sounding speakers I have heard with a very well balanced great bass. They really come alive when mated to the proper components.
  22. I'm lovin my new Samsung Galaxy s7 but I don't use it for music.
  23. I agree, however the order you list the speakers is wrong, at least in terms of when they were released. They were released: 1st - RF-7 2nd - RF-83 3rd - RF-7 Classic 4th - RF-7ii
  24. It's not fun getting old, but it's (usually) better than the alternative.
  25. I always liked Alice, she's so cute,
