David Lettermen - Great clip with Joaquim Pheonix

Here's the follow up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEI4LUqhfn8 -
No, she's allowed on the couch. And I suspected Doberman myself. Glad someone agrees. That genetic testing is pretty cool but I'm really not that worried about it. She's a good dog, that's all I really need to know.

Yeah, I don't see much shepherd either, but my wife does. I don't know if she's really a year old yet either, she still smells like a puppy. Her name is Bella. I think she's pretty happy with her new home, and she is very smart and sweet. Tomorrow will be one week that we've had her. Still getting used to the two cats, though
-
This is my new puppy. We got her from the animal shelter, so they don't know a whole lot about her. They say she is a 1 year old shepherd mix, but as my wife says, there were a lot of "one year old" dogs. What do you guys think?

Yes, but can he do that with a tin cup?

How does this remote compare to the Harmony One?
toddvj replied to jheis's topic in General Klipsch Info
Yeah WAF might be fairly low, but then again, if you had that remote, you wouldn't have to worry about that, would you? -
I'd go with BB for the reward points.

Anyone else fed up with the fragility of HDMI ports?
toddvj replied to SuBXeRo's topic in General Klipsch Info
Haven't had any problems. -
-8 is a little high for volume. I have the same receiver and usually keep it at around -14 or -15. Sometimes on a movie I might move it up to -12, -11, but that's pushing it. I'm also pretty sure I have my FL and FR set lower than -0.5. If you are used to watching movies at that volume with the B&Ws, keep in mind that because the Klipsch are more efficient, they will be louder if you use the same receiver settings. Also, why do you have your center down so low? Is that how the MCACC set it up? That just doesn't seem like it would be right. I agree with the others here, give yourself a little time to get used to it.

Complemented would mean that you were matched up with something. So I guess your hippie music must complement your hippie lifestye []

If you Had a $600-700 budget how would you start off your Home Theater?
toddvj replied to ZASKARK's topic in Home Theater
I'm a little late to this party, but thought I'd chime in on the center/surrounds debate. The center channel is way more important than the surround channels. I don't even know that I'd classify that as an opinion, it's pretty much a fact. -
Movie rental places are finally getting their payback for all the years of exorbitant late fees. **** 'em.

This actually is the "traditional" projector format. I've been out of the loop for a long time now (was never really in the loop as far as owning one, but kept up on the technologies, etc). Anyway, at the time, this was considered the best type of projector (CRT), and I would imagine still is. The major drawback, even though you said to forget about it, is price. Even once you own one, the maintainence cost on one of these is enough to send the average person to the poorhouse.

Not sure what you are referring to. I don't recall ever seeing Netflix streaming advertised as Blu-Ray. The HD videos they stream are no where near Blu-Ray in bitrate. Just to give you an idea, It is fairly common to have over 25Mbps bitrate on a Blu-Ray disc. I have pretty quick internet, but mine maxes out at 16Mbps.

I'd say there's about a 50/50 chance that it's real []

These would not be good for me as I eat Jelly Beans by the handful.

If you have Netflix, do not....................

I just sold my entire DVD collection because I realized I would never watch them. My wife and I were babysitting a couple months ago and the kids picked out Jurrasic Park on standard DVD. One of my favorite DVDs was almost unwatchable now that I'm spoiled on Blu-Ray. That's when I decided to sell my DVDs. -
Yep, mine used to do that too. It's called Anynet on my Samsung. It never bothered me when it was just my Philips DVD player, but once I got a Sony Blu-Ray, I decided to figure it out. There was a setting on the TV to turn it off.

Pretty similar story for me. I collected as a kid, lost all my comics, then started again as an adult. I collected until about 2000, still have a few, but dumped most of them to put a down payment on my house. I don't know much about DC comics as I mostly collected Marvel, but I know quite a bit about Marvel.

DTS HD Master and Dolby True HD Question
toddvj replied to Ultravioletsounds's topic in Home Theater
Yeah, I seriously doubt you are getting Dolby/dts the way you have it hooked up now. You want to go direct from the PS3 to the receiver. Your receiver should have some indication of the sound format you are getting. Also, I don't own, nor have I ever configured a PS3, but there is probably some setting on the PS3 that determines which formats will be passd through the optical cable. The difference between Pro Logic and Dolby Digital/dts isn't simply one of clarity, it is a night and day difference. You'll see what I mean when you achieve it.
