  1. I love my XPA-2. Hooked several pairs of Heresys to this same amp without issue. Crossover rework will definitely help and in my experience a tube pre and ss amp work well together with Heritage. Big D
  2. Love these old Hammer horror flicks. Sad to see Mr. Lee passed. Great actor.
  3. How about using a graining tool.
  4. Most NHRA events facing the bleachers.
  5. Edgar, hope this is not to confusing to figure out. a lot of crossing lines. Would this be a viable low-end folded horn concept?
  6. Edgar, So an exponential folded horn would require contour at every section of the fold.
  7. What determines the X distance? Say in a folded horn to reach a certain HZ the rate of expansion has to be a certain amount per a certain distance.
  8. Let me rephrase. Let's say 6 inch thick constant with increasing width and length. Big D

  11. I've had a Panny TC-P54S1 for years. It's been a very reliable set. Color is great and the blacks are good. Just my 2 cents. Big D
  12. I must agree about the weight. What makes them difficult for me to move is the shape, a bit cumbersome. Getting them up stairs and thru doors is a pain but well worth the effort. I have also used passive and active. To my ears I like the passives. Big D
  13. I have to agree with Gothover. Started with passives that sounded great to me. Listened to the hype about actives. Bought 2 over a couple of years, playing and adjusting. Ultimately came back to the passives. Loved them ever since. Big D
  14. Dug up this page from a 1980 brochure showing finishes available then.
  15. Are you the same vega211r that posted on the CV site about reworking the networks in your 211r's. Just wondering if you found the info you were looking for. I recently recapped the networks in my 211r's. Made a huge difference. Big D
  16. Geez it's hard to believe I've been coming here on and off (mostly on) since 2001. Built khorns,Jubilees and a few other little projects with help of the combined brain trust of this fantastic web site. Hope all is well with everyone. Let's keep the info flowing for the younger audiophiles. All is well Big D
  17. I was combing thru a local thrift store and came across a 70's Harmon/Kardan 400 series receiver for $70.00 bucks. Would it be worth it to take the plunge? I've read on the forum that they sound pretty decent. Big D
  18. I know how you feel Brother. Went through the same thing in january. DVT and pulminary embolisms are no fun. Take care of yourself and get well soon. Big D
