  1. I have about 10 or more power transformersthat are for mono preamps and tube amps that came from organs made back in the 50 thought the 70's I don't know sh*t about the other then they came from working units and are heavy stuff. I can email you some very good photos of them from any angel that you need to help you to see if any of these will work for you. I also have some of them that were for solid state mono 100 watt mono amps they came from allen, lazley ( I think ) and Hammond or hammon
  2. johnnydrama is spot on with what he said. its better for a bedroom or a very small living room
  3. I HAVE THE YAMAH P5000S AMP AND I USED IT FOR MY 15" FOLDEDhorn sub and then on 2 15" sealed boxes and the I had it bridged the hole time. and it never ran hot. its a work horse. until we moved and someone dropped it from about 12' in the air. in was packed in a box and nothing looks bad on the outside, but it no longer works on one channel. so its no fault of the amp, just someone with butter fingers lol the Yamaha line of P****s amp line is a very under rated amp and they have a type of EQ or DSP system for Yamaha pro line speakers and they have some weight to them and have great rack handles on them and they don't have over powering lights on the front so its not a distraction to anyone when its sitting near your tv and for his asking price. ITS Ahell of a deal
  4. But parts express has a sale in some great plate amps that have the dsp and all the goodies in them. That may be your best bet. I can email anyone the flyers I just got from them. My email is carlthess@yahoo.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Used the digital optical for the r-15pm and get a nice rca for the sub. You don't have to go crazy on paying hundreds of dollars for cables. I make mine with rg6 cable the type with 100-% cooper center core wire and 100% cooper shielded wire Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If this does not go though with anyone else I would be more then happy to pay shipping to get the cloth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Great price on your 62 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The rc-64II is one hell of a center speaker. I bought some gear off of a ex employee of klipsch. He was a engineer in the crossover design department and he was using the 64's for LCR setup and WOW it was crazy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The cornscala came about from some guys that loved the la scala but wanted [ needed] more bass. So came the cornscala. It has the great low end of the Cornwall with the spectacular mids and highs of the horn speaker. Aka la scala Bob C has the plans for a 3 way and a great 2 way and all the drivers and the most important part. The crossovers. He even sales the motor board for any of the 3 or 4 designs for the cornscala. Well worth buying his motor board. Go to his website and look them up and you will find real world and instrument specifications and reviews and the way and how's of these speakers that Mr. P. Klipsch never got around to make. 14. Do the subs first. You may find new life in the Yamaha that you did not know was there. If you have the room and funds. Do two subs so you will have a better balance of low end sound without a dip in a The room. Try a few different placements and see if you hear that sweet spot or setting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. This discussion is getting to where I am bowing out you gentlemen have a wonderful day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wow. Those are a work of art Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. you should call or email klipsch tech. they will be able to answer your questions. the last time I called about one of my older subs they sent me to a repair place for klipsch items. but I thought they were to high on prices. you can go on eBay and look up klipsch sub amp repairs. I found one that does a flat rate for repairs.
  18. Well said Mr Albright Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That's one of the biggest things I hate about my iPhone. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Well you've opened a can of worms. Lol. But bottom line is you will be good with what you have. And as for the biamp The cross over will handle the power portioning and if you have odyssey on the receiver when you run the odyssey it will help adjust the levels for the Tweeter . you will get a better sound out of that speaker if you biamp them. because it will be getting 100 watts for the lows and 100 for the highs for combined power of 200 Watts to that speaker. There's still a lot of good receivers out there that I only have 75 Watts per channel and do just fine. But with more power, you should have a higher headroom before going into distortion. And with such high efficient speakers you will be utilizing your power much better with better headroom More people will chime in with the definitions for your questions of rms, Peak power and distortion vs clipping and so on. You have a great speaker setup that will reproduce the true sound that the engineers meant to be heard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ok I'll look into it. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Where can I find a complete set of blueprints and cut sheet for building these? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. O man. Now I'm getting sick (: Those are Beautiful Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Wow. You made a great deal there. If you feel that they are to bright in the Highs you can do this, I have used in the past some acoustical transparent foam stuffed in the throat of the horn and that will soften the high-end fatigue the fact is that most of all of the KPT's were designed to be installed behind a theater screen that was acoustically transparent My last setup using the kpt line was two of the lot-904's 6 of the kpt-100 for the sides and rears and two kpt-484. Witch were the single 18" sub driver The 904's are a two way speaker, it was more or less a Cornwall without the mid { squawker} horn and had two 15" low drivers, and what I did was open up the backs and redid the wiring so I could make it a 3 way. I used a art 3 way stereo / 4 way mono electronic crossover. And what I did on the wiring was I wired the bottom woofer for my lows [ 120hz up to 300hz] and the upper woofer I crossed it over at 260hz up to 2500hz and everything above this went the the very large horn, and for the lot-484's I crossed the at 140hz. And for the amps I had about 16 of those little marantz mono amps that were 100 watts each. I think the model number was the ma500. Sweet little amps and small and I was able to place them right by each speaker, I did have the harshness sound from the horns. I tried a few things to make it a little softer, I tried speaker grill cloth, that did not work very well. And one day I had a large ups shipment come in and low and behold, all the items that I had in the boxes had this soft but firm black blocks for packing. They were about 12" by 12" by 36" long I used a very long serrated bread knife and shaped them to fill the hole mouth and throat of the horn. And WOW that did the trick. It made the sound soft and sweet but I could still hear the drummer using his steel wire sticks on the symbols and hear him sliding them across the symbols. Sorry if I got off track on your post and I did not read all the replies. I just seen the photos and it brought back memories of that setup I had and all the problems I ran into. So I hope this helps in anyway shape or form. Enjoy your new unicorn of speakers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hello. First off I'm a long time user of klipsch speakers. I have owned over 100 sets of klipsch speakers over the last 35 years. I started with my first pair at the age of 15 with a set of the worst looking k-horns that anyone has seen. But they were free and all I had to do was get them home. That's when my love affair with klipsch and horn type speakers started. Anyway, lol. The great thing about a horn speaker and klipsch is that you can get clean, bone chilling sound with as little as 3 watts. But it's nice to have all the extra power and the headroom. But. This is a large BUT, klipsch will let you hear all the great sounds that you never heard before from your favorite song, now here's the large BUT.. now you will hear the horrible parts of your audio gear that you did I not notice before. Like a piss poor rca cable, the cheap and under sized speaker cables and just how bad your room sucks for audio. To many people look at power ratings, just like a dear frozen looking at headlights. Power is not the key part of a system. But if your using a speaker system that as a sensitivity level of 86 or 88db then you will need more power. This is one of the worst misleading things that audio manufacturers do is say that their power rating is 100 Watts, but what they don't tell you is this 100 Watts is at 1 kHz frequency, witch is the easiest frequency to reproduce. So in the real world you may be only getting 45 watts of clean usable power. So the bottom line is YES. You have more then enough power for your klipsch speakers. Sorry guys for being so long winded. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
