Nismo,...Well I have to say I kinda understand ...Audyssey is good ...but does have it's qwerks... After getting home from work I decides to look and see exactly how Audyssey reacted to my subs in my space again....Started calibration both subs 3 notches up from 0 (RSW's do not have #'s) to achieve 75 db....went through calibration Audessey decided to bring the subs up 5 db from there....brought fronts down 9..... center down 6..... surrounds down 7.... rears down 7....this may sound harsh....what the ....is the 75 db on the sub for if Audyssey brings it up anyway?? Hope that doesn't sound stupid That is why I kinda understand

I understand what you are saying.....I have never had any sub I have owned set at 100%.......everything from Velodyne....SVS....Definitive Tech.....Klipsch Rsw......even back in the day before auto calibration.....remember the trusty RS slm.....Don't get me wrong now when calibration is complete I do kick each sub up a couple notches....but that brings them up to #5......but 100%....I aways thought the reason my were set so low to achieve 75db was because RSW rear is active and mine are in a corner stacked about 15 inches from wall. 100%. Come on.....So when calibration starts do you just disregard the 75db??

Nismo....not quite understanding....when I start calibration...it is looking to have the sub or subs at 75db ....how is this done if the gain is at 100%.... Am I missing something

Nismo, I have been waiting read a real word review. Been kicking around unloading my 2 RSW 10's for one of these... or the VT1800...I do like the fact that this has both front and rear drivers.And being made in America to me is also a plus. Where did you end up placing it?

Speaking of a great cassette story.Think about this....I am 57....Back in my younger days while living at my parents house in the late 70's there was a radio station WXRT that would play a midnight album every Friday. At the time I had a Sharp Rt 3388A...the most high tech computer controlled cassette deck. I had the ability to plug my receiver into it and I could set a start recording at midnight...so I would use it to start my receiver and my Pioneer Rt 707 reel to reel start recording the midnight album... You could fit a whole album on one side of a 7 inch reel to reel tape if you recorded it at the slower speed...Then I would transfer them to cassette so I could play them in my car. This was heaven free albums and I did not even have to be awake to record them. Well I recorded so many midnight albums and transferred them to cassette I need to buy one of those big brief case type cassette holders....I think it may have held 48 cassettes.... Over the years while dating my now wife of 30 years every vacation we went on we would remember to pack the cassette case to listen to on our trip...at every tourist attraction we stopped at whether it was the Corn Palace....Grand Canyon... Devils Tower we would always buy one of those stickers and stick it onto the case with all the cassettes....By the time we got married the case was full . About 12 years ago I started to get rid of a lot of old analog gear one of which was the RT3388A and the cassette case...About a month ago a kid from work (he's 28) come up to me with his cell phone to show me a picture of what he bought at a garage sale....There is the fricken case with the stickers and all and it was still full with the same midnight albums. The kid said ...YOU recorded those... I said F...ing A enjoy

All the reviews on the Sony are really good ......and for $69 what a deal....Don't get me wrong I'm like my Oppo's.......but for that money.....worth a try

I have been checking out those Quartets all summer. They would have to be in the 300.00 to 325.00 range for me to go after them. They would be as nice fall project. I have not seen that CL add for a while.

Forget about the RC64. I thought it was totally over rated...had one for a while ...sold it went back to RC35.....with the extra money I bought 2 pair of RB 35's....and one pair i bought from you derrickdj1

Send it to Edwards electronics (ebay) I think they should be able to take care of it.I know they do an amp repair $150.00

Don't get me wrong the 9.9 is a great processor but all Onkyo products are prone to HDMI audio issues because of heat and reflow issues with the HDMI board. The kind of popping sound is something all Integra's have. I know both of mine do....both of my Integra's sound and work great.....I did need to have HDMI board replaced in my 40.1
