  1. Veeeeeeery interesting indeed......... I don't know but the one in the middle is the spitting image of Willie Nelson. Wait, that is the punchline to a different joke. Won't do a Bit of Good.
  2. One 5 hour energy drink, one can of Monster energy drink and a large cup of coffee and it still feels like nap time. Dam
  3. You Have to take him. Weather he knows it or not, He is wanting to do something that will help him with the Father Son bonding that is so important, yet missed out on by so many people. If not now, when? When my kids were pre-school I could take them anywhere with me. Only one time did we have a behaviour issue. Relatives would take the kids out for dinner, on vacations. I never did hear of them miss behaving on these outings. But we did get a lot of compliments on how well behaved they were. I do remember having to tell my son no though. He seen a sign saying Winnemucca 350 miles and wanted to go. Had to tell him I did not think his mother would approve.
  4. I knew a guy that bought a new Camaro when he was in the Navy. He got one of those cargo containers, put the car and a dehumidifier in it until he got out of the Navy 6 years later. Seemed like a fine way to store his car. Although I must admit it would have been more interesting if he could have parked it in the Living Room.
  5. Never had much of a problem. Our Dogs have been inside outside dogs. They don't like to foul there own nest so to be watch full and provide plenty of outside room. A fenced yard, and teach dog where to go. A smart dog will use the area where he does not like to play. No fun getting dog poop on the ball, or between the toes.
  6. We don't need the moderators to do this. If we all go back and clean up our posts on our own, It will be done. I guess I'll go first. There, I've went through and cleaned up my own posts.
  7. Couldn't tell you which tubes are glowing in the dark for me. Can tell you I like setting in the dark, seeing the glow from the tubes, and hearing the music dance back and forth left and right. Also hear music coming from center sound stage, but no speaker there.
  8. When sending a message meant for one person alone, Maybe it would be best to send a PM. Open letter to those that feel more generous. I would expect that although a 1 time donation is Great, There may be a need for more help to keep Joe afloat until he gets his feet on solid ground. I know Joe will not ask for himself. But he may need additional help until he can again provide for his family. I'm disabled myself for 1.5 years. I had someone help me through the worst financial times and now feel pretty solid. Not going hungry, and not in danger of loosing my home. I never asked for help from anyone, and it is Humbling when someone comes out and helps me get back on my feet. john
  9. I make it a point to PM a person when I want to say something privately and not make someone feel bad. Seems Joe has expressed his gratitude on this thread more then once.
  10. As long as you don't get a Darwin Award your OK. Never got into having New cars or pickups myself.
  11. Man you're killing me. Would like to compare with Fisher 400 but can't afford the price of admission.
  12. I like mine. Bought it years ago when I was into hand grinding the beans for each batch of coffee. Wish mine was bigger. Works well with already ground coffee too.
  13. Earl, You can add me to the list of driving Fools. Years ago the Freeway was ice. Traffic was doing 35 mph. Couldn't stand it. Who drives 35 on the freeway? I passed the lot of them in my CJ-5. Then my rear tires passed the front end and I landed on one of the few flat level areas along the free way. Turned in the hubs, drove out and joined the rest of the people doing 35.
  14. 70's Sansui are warm and fuzzy. 9090 and 9090DB. 70's Marantz that I've found I like are 2270, 2285B, and 2325. To be sure there are others that sound good, but these are ones I've listened to, and would recommend. Unless you want to get into Tube gear. Then I'm not much help, but the tube gear I've listened to I have enjoyed. Nothin like setting in a dark room and having the music dancing back and forth as you stare at the light from the tubes to relax me.

    What I Got Today!

No Damage? Man you lucked out. My misfortune has been to come home from work to find water spraying and no idea how long it leaked. Looked like a long time. What the heck. They make water heaters every day. The Gas fired water heaters do not seem to last as long as the electric ones.
  16. The last time I cranked up the Khorns downstairs one of the cats was doing a belly crawl across the floors looking for a quiet place. S.O.L. there was no quiet place in the house.
  17. Wow, well thank you it was really just things I thought about from doing it, it was all new to me but when someone is dependent on you like that it makes you realize how it must feel. When it's all over you will appreciate it more than you do now. Gave care to an uncle as he died from cancer. I would not want to do it again for any amount of money. On the other hand I would not take any amount of money to have missed out on the time I got to spend with him.
  18. Maybe this coffee mug will work? Couldn't get an easy link, but if you high lite and search it shows the Cup Giant Starbucks Mug For Sale on Ebay! HUGE 2 1/2 Gallon Los Miller High Life may work for some. Never cared for it myself. On the other Hand..... This would work for some people.
  19. Just remembered that my jeep is a 3 speed, but has overdrive for each forward gear and reverse. Used to get a kick out of grabbing another gear in the gravel or mud while in reverse. Damn overdrive is the weak link though. Lifted the front wheels in 1st and 2nd, but when I tried for 2nd and over it went bang. No more overdrive. No more banging overdrive. But I refuse to grow up!
  20. Have had a couple automatics in the past. Now the wife will not even hear of having one. Prefer the manuals. If you have more gears then you feel like shifting, try skipping the gears. 4th to 6th, or 3rd to 5th. Whatever feels good at the time. I've done this for some time with no ill effect noted. Do this in both my rice burner and small pu. Both in town and on freeway.
  21. Poodle cut does look strange on a cat. Cat does not appear to appreciate the cut.

    Your first song

Loved the Nora Jones. Just call me slow. Finally realized I can open files of music listed on a thread, stack them at the top of the page and preview and reject while also viewing Forum or whatever I'm doing on the computer.
  23. In the past I have had a thread locked due to being "Political". I was told that these always ended badly, ALWAYS. Well I'm glad to see that this is not true. I'm Proud to be associated with a group of people that can discuss political and social issues without fighting. I guess things have changed for the better in that respect. I also thank the Moderators for letting this thread run.
  24. In every group of people there is a percentage that is full of themselves, for lack of a better term. My wife used to work for a police department in a small town. A more deceitful, self centered group of turds I have never known. Now I'm not saying that all of them are Turds. But most of this group were. If you didn't join their good ole boys club they would run you out of town. For a lot of years I could not even say the word cop without it destroying the rest of my day. To say that I hated these people would be an understatement. Later in life I had to work with Federal Police officers. Some of them still had the attitude that showed them to be full of themselves. However a higher percentage of them seemed to be good people. Working on a locked Psych unit we had occasion to call them for backup. There was one officer that each time he came to our unit would push the patients until he got hurt. He just did not know when to back off and defuse the situation, Most of the others were very good with the patients and very helpful in defusing the situation. Some of the things I learned in my job was not to get into the patients space, leave yourself room to defend yourself so "No one gets hurt". Only physically intervene when absolutely necessary. To pull up to a suspect and not allow defensive space is just looking to get someone hurt. The officers that shot the 12 year old got too close and did not allow defensive space in my opinion. Nor did the officer in Fergason. I think there is room for blame all the way around. The officers got too close to allow for safety in each case and someone got killed. When interacting with law enforcement personal it is best not to do anything that leaves them feeling afraid for their life. I have been stopped while I was armed more times then I recall. I have found that I can tell them what I think of them, good or bad without giving them an excuse to feel threatened. If I'm in my car, I'm most likely armed. If I do anything to leave these people feeling threatened I know that I might be shot. You just have to look at the whole situation and behave safely. Trouble is too many people, Public and Officers do not act in a manner that promotes safety. You can threaten an officer (been there done that), but do not threaten their safety unless you are prepared to take it to the limit. And die for your cause.
  25. Never had the Marantz 2385, but have liked the other 70's era Marantz's I've aquired. Info I've found on this unit says it's "Rare". = Expensive. If you have a line on one, I suspect you would like it.
